Radical Muslim Cleric honored with White House meeting
Schoolchildren may still be unable to visit the White House, but radical Muslim cleric Sheik Abdullah Bin Bayyah was welcomed and attended a June 13 meeting with National Security Advisor Tom Donilon and White House communications director Jennifer Palmieri.
...Bin Bayyah is vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), a group founded by and headed by Qaradawi. The IUMS has a long history of supporting Hamas -a top Hamas leader is an IUMS member - and of calling for Israel's destruction.
Bin Bayyah's boss Qaradawi: Radical Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi is considered so radical that the United States bans him from entering the country. Qaradawi, considered the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, has called for the killing of Jews and Americans.
That history makes the June 13 White House meeting with Sheik Abdullah Bin Bayyahall the more inexplicable.

Syrians behead Christians for helping military, as CIA ships in arms
A priest and another Christian were beheaded before a cheering crowd by Syrian insurgents who say they aided and abetted the enemy, President Bashar Assad’s military, foreign media reported.

The Journal reported the Central Intelligence Agency just began transporting weapons to Jordan for eventual transfer to Syrian fighters.

Yep, those Syrian rebels are a bad bunch.

What's that have to do with Obama again?

Treasury: IRS targeted 292 Tea Party groups, just 6 progressive groups
Refuting Democratic suggestions that progressive groups were also swept up in the IRS probe of the tax status of Tea Party organizations, the Treasury Department's inspector general has revealed that just six progressive groups were targeted compared to 292 conservative groups.
In a letter to congressional Democrats, the inspector general also said that 100 percent of Tea Party groups seeking special tax status were put under IRS review, while only 30 percent of the progressive groups felt the same pressure.
The Wednesday letter to the top Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee punched a huge hole in Democratic claims that progressive groups were targeted as much as the Tea Party groups from May 2010-May 2012, the height of the Tea Party movement.
http://washingtonexaminer.com/treasury-irs-ta...
How many conservative groups were denied their tax exempt status?

Zero.

The only group we know of that was actually denied tax exempt status was a Democratic group.

.

Here's a little thought experiment for you:

Suppose 700 conservative groups apply for tax exempt status and 10 progressive groups apply for tax exempt status.

If you use "conservative" as a search term - how many hits might you get?

And if you use "progressive" as a search term - how many hits might you get?

See, just because more conservative groups than progressive groups actually got closer scrutiny doesn't mean the conservative groups were being targeted. It just means that there were more of them to find.

Understand?

If you don't, it's only because you don't want to. LOL!

IRS auditor reaffirms that conservatives, not liberals, were targeted
The IRS‘ auditor told Congress this week that it stands by its determination that conservative groups were uniquely singled out for special scrutiny by the tax agency, rebutting Democrats’ contention that liberal groups also were targeted.
The Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration (TIGTA) sent a letter Wednesday to congressional Democrats telling them that while several liberal groups may have gotten extra scrutiny, the IRS didn’t necessarily target those — but it did do so for conservative groups.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jun/...
You missed this part of your article:

"Rep. Sander M. Levin of Michigan, ranking Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee, said Mr. George’s latest statement contradicts the auditor’s earlier findings."

----------

It has come out that the Inspector General’s report on the IRS was deliberately limited to only discussing Tea Party groups, and the IG says it was Congressional Republicans who ordered this limitation. In other words, the whole “scandal” was ginned up from the start. It’s not just that the IRS was targeting progressive groups also, but that the entire IG report was deliberately skewed, with undisclosed parameters, to create the false impression that Tea Party groups were being singled out. Now the IG and the Republicans are pointing the finger at each other, and the only scandal concerns the investigation itself.

----------

In May, George declined to answer questions about whether progressive groups were targeted, a kind of cageyness that now raises questions about his impartiality in presenting findings about what went on at the IRS.

At the May 22 House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing “The IRS: Targeting Americans for Their Beliefs,” Chairman Darrell Issa asked George point-blank about “be on the lookout” orders:“Were there any BOLOs issued for progressive groups, liberal groups?”

“Sir, this is a very important question,” the courtly George replied.“Please, I beg your indulgence …. The only ‘be on the lookout,’ that is BOLO, used to refer cases for political review were the ones that we described within our report.”

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2...

----------

There are many questions about the independence of this IG. His previous statements constitute perjury. He needs to resign.

Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.) on Sunday sharply criticized both his own party and the Senate he served in for close to three decades.

Asked on “Fox News Sunday” if the Senate was broken, Dole responded that “it is bent pretty badly.”

It seems almost unreal that we can’t get together on a budget, or legislation,” said Dole, who served in the Senate from 1969 to 1996.“We weren’t perfect by a long shot, but at least we got our work done.”

Dole came back to the Senate last December to support a United Nations treaty to bar discrimination against people with disabilities, which failed after a vast majority of Republicans declined to support it.

Dole said in his Fox News interview that he isn’t sure there would be a place for him and other big-time Republicans of his generation, like Presidents Reagan and Nixon, in the current GOP.

“Reagan couldn’t have made it. Certainly, Nixon couldn’t have made it, because he had ideas. We might have made it, but I doubt it,” said Dole, who called himself a “mainstream conservative Republican.”

“I think they ought to put a sign on the national committee doors that says closed for repairs, until New Year’s Day next year, and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas,” Dole said about the current state of his party.

Dole had no idea why his own party has turned their backs on people with disabilties even the soldiers that fought for our country that need our help are just shaking their heads.

Investigator: No sign progressives mistreated
The Treasury Department watchdog who detailed Internal Revenue Service mistreatment of tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status says he has no evidence the IRS also mishandled progressive groups' applications.
In a letter obtained Thursday by The Associated Press, the inspector general for tax administration, J. Russell George, acknowledged that the term "Progressives" appeared on a list of terms used by IRS screeners from 2010 to 2012 to look for applicants with potential problems that would merit close scrutiny.
But George said there was no evidence the IRS set aside progressive groups' applications because they appeared on that list.

Fox News poll: 66 percent worried about their health care under ObamaCare
A record number of voters want the 2010 Affordable Care Act repealed entirely, while sizable majorities say they are worried about their health care under the new law and expect their medical costs will go up, according to a new Fox News poll.
The poll, released Wednesday, finds that 58 percent of voters favor repealing all (39 percent) or some (19 percent) of President Obama’s signature legislative achievement.
Another 19 percent would leave the law as is, while 17 percent would expand its coverage further.
The 39 percent who want to repeal the health care law entirely is a record high, up from 30 percent who felt that way in March 2013.

Imagine that - a coordinated propaganda campaign lying about the Affordable Care Act has impacted public opinion.

You know what they say - negative ads work.

At this point - before most ACA provisions take effect - public opinion is based more on misinformation than on the facts and therefore is meaningless.

----------

Critics of Health Care Law Outspending Its Supporters on Ads

Seven months before the core provisions of President Obama’s health care law are to take effect, most television advertising that mentions the law continues to come from its opponents.

Since the law’s passage in March 2010, critics have spent a total of about $400 million on television ads that refer to it, according to a new analysis by the Campaign Media Analysis Group at Kantar Media, which tracks such spending. Supporters have spent less than a quarter of that — about $75 million — on ads that cast the law in a positive light, according to the analysis.

Small businesses are exempt from the Affordable Care Act. If small business owners are laying people off, the ACA is not the reason. If they claim the ACA is the reason, they are either lying or (like most Americans) are massively misinformed about ACA requirements.

Remember the Obama Scandals? That Used to Be a Thing

Do you remember how all-consuming the “Obama scandals” once were? This was a turn of events so dramatic it defined Obama’s entire second term — he was “waylaid by controversies,” or at least “seriously off track,”“beset by scandals,” enduring a “second-term curse,” the prospect of “endless scandals,” Republicans “beginning to write his legislative obituary,” and Washington had “turned on Obama.” A ritualistic media grilling of Jay Carney, featuring the ritualistic comparisons of him to Nixon press secretary Ron Ziegler, sanctified the impression of guilt.

It has come and gone, having left barely a trace. To be sure, the Obama scandals live on in the conservative world, where the evidence of deep corruption and venality grows stronger and stronger. But that is merely the confirmation of suspicions of “Chicago politics,” ACORN and so on, that predate recent events and don’t require any particular facts to survive.
