Not sure we really want to give this good advice to the GOP. I've gotten so accustomed to them being nitwits and religious extremists that if they stopped, they'd leave a huge void in the entertainment portion of political TV.
I also don't want to see them come to their senses. I'm really hoping they continue their inward and downward spiral to an implosion. The Democrats are the new moderates, and actual conservatives, there's no room for another party that actually cares about the population and it's financial and physical health and well being. We need a party of circus performers, sideshow freaks, and ringleaders like Rush. Otherwise the GOP base has to become normal and no longer paranoid and ranting about socialists and Muslims. Where would the fun be in that? Plus, like most Americans, we love a good train wreck.
We also have a reputation to uphold as a world leader in general population ignorance. We've cornered that market and are expected to be seen as over-indulgers and materialistic and just plain stupid. The joy shown by the rest of the world when Obama was elected the first time brought a tear to one's eye. The relief expressed around the world when Obama was re-elected was the icing on the cake that was this election cycle. We need the Republican party to continue on this course. they need to learn more than a few lessons about how badly they screwed us, on their own, by their own mistakes, and at their own expense.
The GOP and their ilk have cost this country dearly, and I think it's only fair they pay for it the hard way. They didn't give one crap about the citizens over the last four years. The House Republicans should be charged, tried, fined, fired, and hung out to dry. You suck House Republicans!
So yes, please continue on as the holier-than-thou party. Please continue to try and rule over women's reproductive rights. Please keep saying that being gay is a choice. Please continue to be the severely conservative, tin foil hat-wearing, party of the elitist, rich, white, male, God-fearing Grand Old Party, so that the sane, caring, Democratic moderates can continue lead and to look out for all of our best interests.

What went wrong they ask. Limbaugh, Akin, Mourdock, Beck, etc. All of them insulted, belittled, and thoroughly alienated 60% of the voters. The religious fundamentalists are becoming a despised bunch of fools. Every time they open their mouth they effectively castrate the GOP. Pity it's only metaphorical. They sure are in a big hurry to make women second class citizens again. It's going to take at least 2-3 more generations to be educated in reality before I'll vote for any of them.

GOP defeated....
So what's next? Having now lost two presidential elections in a row, conventional wisdom says Republicans have two choices. The first is to admit that tea partyism has failed. 2012 was its best chance for victory, and evolving demographics will only make hardcore conservatism less and less popular. As South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has put it, "We're not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term." So the party will need to moderate or die.

The second option is to double down. Party activists will tell themselves that Mitt Romney was never a true conservative, and that's what voters sensed. But Republicans can win again in 2016 if they stay true to their principles, moving farther right and amping up the obstruction of all things Obama even more. In Congress, Paul Ryan will be their pied piper and Eric Cantor will be their enforcer.

So for now, at least, it seems probable that we're stuck with Option 2. Republican Party elders will probably try to be a little more careful about vetting candidates for political Tourette syndrome (no more "legitimate rape," please), but otherwise the tea party strain will remain ascendant even if the name itself is relegated to the ash heap of history. Republicans will continue to deny climate change, continue to insist that tax cuts pay for themselves, and continue to believe that Barack Obama is a socialist revolutionary. They will once again hold America's economy hostage over the debt ceiling and tax cuts for the rich, and they will continue to filibuster every single bill that Democrats introduce in the Senate.

Conservatives never forgive, they never forget, and they never learn. If they were not forever behind the curve, they wouldn't be conservtives.

He won't answer, big government types cannot grasp the concept of the United STATES of America, they think we live in the American Federation.

Federal power grabs started a long time ago, some say with Lincoln, and now we are blessed with the Leviathan known as the Federal government.

I see nullification to be more of a reality than succession - except for maybe Texas, I could see them pursuing that.

The Federal Government sucks money out of the states, then makes then beg for some of it back.

"succession" en masse

could be accomplished by simply filing an extension on your federal income taxes.

Perfectly legal and would send a message that we've had enough.

1% per month interest charge during the extension period (2012)

There is no clear answer to what's happening to us right now. Or how to solve it, no matter what any pundit or professor claims.

You can trust neither free enterprise nor government to carry out what is best and right for the people. Greed and corruption will always poison those intentions. Profits, the bottom line, a little 'added incentive' to fall in line with interested and powerful parties. To completely embrace idealism in either direction is naive, to think either the free market or elected officials will act to our benefit.

I had hoped that when the election ended, the hostility and aggression would end. Bonds would heal and we could work together to strive for progress and the betterment of our nation and humanity.

I was wrong, the enmity remains. The venom might even be more potent now; every side is going to up the ante, rev up their propaganda machines, demonize the opposing camps. And while some of what we see may just be the anger still waning in the wake of a divisive political campaign, I fear much of it may be etched here for a long time to come. People are proud and stubborn animals and we won't abandon our stances easily.

There remain competing factions warring over the hearts and minds of the people, tugging us in opposing directions. It's like a civil war, but not divided between state lines. Truth be told, it's not even just race, class, faith or gender.

I'd like to think we still have it in us to make amends and become unified again. But that particular brand of faith is starting to slip. I realize Topix isn't quite the place to go if you want to see the good in people, but it sadly appears to be a microcosm of what's around us in this heated, opinionated climate.

I'm not optimistic as I sit here. I wish I could be. But I feel like I've come to know mankind's vices, flaws and failings too well. And it unsettles me to think what may soon be afoot in the United States.

Not really sure they are 'competing', maybe in the way two WWE wrestlers are 'competing'.

The left/right paradigm has been scripted out using left and right cover to promote their agendas utilizing Edwards Bernays mass population mind control propaganda techniques.

The eugenicists elitist bankers and multinational corporate interest are running this country now, especially at the Federal level.

More people wake up everyday, and change is on the horizon, these criminals will lose, it is just a matter of when.

The Oligarchy entices you all with goods and services that you do not need, and you agree to pay as much as 25% interest per year on ephemeral pleasures and goods designed to break right after the warranty expires.

You are indebted to the Oligarchy, held in absolute thrall to them in no different fashion than the indentured servant of two hundred years ago.

Except there is no end to the modern 'contract'.

So here is how the Virtual Tea Party works:

Very simply, pay off all credit cards forthwith, and cut all but one (the cheapest, for emergencies) to pieces.

Pay down your mortgage, with double or triple payments.

Do not buy a new (or used) car or other major appliance or fancy toy until you can pay cash for it.

Who knows how many millions of Virtual Rebels it will take to participate thus to break the back of the Oligarchy, but even in small numbers, a Stand For Independence will have been taken, and you will be one of the Rebels, and you don't even have to dress up in feathers and red paint.

BUT you will have bragging rights as a participant in the Virtual Tea Party, plus the money you save and remove from the coffers of the Oligarchy is yours to keep.

Eliminating all Virtual Money from your personal and business finances will remove you the person sitting in your chair, and your family and friends and co-workers who participate from unending enslavement by the omni-powerful Oligarchy.

And when this job is done, you will stand as a Free Individual.

And the Free individual is duty bound to free others, to Empower.

Pass it on...

For as Dr. Martin Luther King jr said:

"Until all are free, none are free."

Trivial pursuit time: How many presidential tickets have lost their home states?

Republicans Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are the first ticket since 1972 that failed to carry their home states.
That tells you something.

Also:

What is not disclosed in the Program are the tax incentives that allow multinationals to lay off people in the USA, shut down plants and move to India and other countries like Canada, that made the Secret Service bus.

Republicans in September 2010 voted as a block to stop a law that would have removed the tax support to Outsource jobs out of the USA. Since, the Multinationals have created 2.9 million jobs overseas and laid off 2.4 million in the USA.

Manufacturing jobs lost in the USA over 7 million.
20% of our kids live in Poverty.
12 million kids are homeless
20% of the GDP goes to the 1%.
We have the lowest Marginal tax rates in history and Congress is not using taxing policies to "Incentivize" Corporations to create jobs in the USA.

People will do anything, including trashing our economy to gain control of Congress and the Whitehouse.

Don't be so sure that will happen, we are starting to figure out who the enemy is, and it is not the President or his party.
