Here's how they did it, according to Deloitte Tax:

The family was entitled to a standard deduction of $11,400 and four personal exemptions of $3,650 apiece,

leaving a taxable income of $24,000.

The federal income tax on $24,000 is $2,769.

With two children younger than 17,

the family qualified for two $1,000 child tax credits.

Its Making Work Pay credit was $800 because the parents were married filing jointly.

The $2,800 in credits exceeds the $2,769 in taxes,

so the family makes a $31 profit

from the federal income tax.

Last November, Citizens for Tax Justice and the
Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy issued a
major study of the federal income taxes paid, or not
paid, by 280 big, profitable Fortune 500 corporations.
That report found, among other things, that 30 of the
companies paid no net federal income tax from 2008
through 2010. New information for 2011 shows that
almost all these 30 companies have maintained their
tax dodging ways.

Time for the rich to kick in and pay their fare share......

These are the tax scammers and crooked greedy companies.

Today, President Obama will meet with the leaders of a dozen of America’s largest companies to discuss solutions to the federal debt crisis.

Soon after, the president may claim that business leaders support his plan to hike income taxes, even though those tax hikes would hit millions of businesses.

If this sounds surprising, it shouldn’t.

Present at this White House conference will be top executives from Aetna, Xerox, American Express, Wal-Mart, Honeywell International, General Electric, Dow Chemical, Procter & Gamble, Ford, PepsiCo, IBM and Chevron.

Not included in the invite list:

a single representative from one of the country’s 27.5 million small businesses.

Not one.

While these big businesses directly benefit from federal spending, they hardly pay taxes.

Thanks to million-dollar lobbying campaigns, none of them pay close to the standard 35 percent corporate tax rate, and some reportedly pay as little as 5 percent.

In fact, The New York Times reported that in the 2010 fiscal year General Electric did not pay a single dollar in corporate taxes while making $5 billion domestically and $14 billion worldwide.

This occurred as CEO Jeffrey Immelt, who is at the White House today, served as chairman of Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

CBO:

Obama’s Tax On Rich Would Reduce Deficit By Literally Zero Dollars

Raising taxes on the rich was the cornerstone of President Obama’s reelection campaign.

“If we’re serious about reducing the deficit,”

Obama told a rally in Columbus, Ohio, on election day,“we’ve got to ask the wealthiest Americans to go back to the tax rates they paid when Bill Clinton was in office.”

But just how much deficit reduction would Obama’s tax hikes on the rich necessarily accomplish?

Nothing, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Letting tax rates rise to Clinton era levels for those families making over $250,000 a year would only raise $824 billion over ten years.

That is not even enough revenue to undo the sequester that Obama promised

“will not happen”

during his final debate with Mitt Romney.

A chart breaking down the costs of the relevant fiscal cliff provisions is below.

you are the minion, throwing your vote away each election in chase of a hopeless dream, a mythical utopian reality that will never come to pass. no matter how much you think you're making a difference or feel superior to us all and act like you know something we all don't because you voted for a third party candidate, the fact remains that you willingly flushed your vote down the toilet like the little minion you are, thinking you would actually make a difference. how does it feel knowing your dreams were dead before they even entered your minion mind? now excuse me, i have to go make a deposit at bank of america. Investopedia explains 'Shovel-Ready'

Obama's 2009 stimulus package, passed in an attempt to spark economic recovery from the Great Recession, was supposed to fund numerous shovel-ready projects and create jobs.

It was also supposed to jump-start the struggling construction industry.

Time-consuming regulatory requirements delayed many projects, however, while others never happened, which subjected the president to much criticism.

I’m sure that when you implemented the Recovery Act your staff briefed you on many of these challenges.”

At this point, Obama smiled and interjected,“Shovel-ready was not as … uh .. shovel-ready as we expected.”

The Council, led by GE’s Jeffrey Immelt, erupted in laughter.

What may be surprising is that it’s now so obvious the program has failed that the president is willing to joke about it.
