It is an objective, verifiable FACT that Romney has run his entire campaign based on lies. It is not a matter of opinion.

And only mindless rightwing drones can't acknowledge that fact because their irrational hatred of the President has blinded them to objective reality.

Campaign 2012: The End of Political Truth?

[Romney] has insisted that under Obama "government will come to control half the economy." (Not so.)

That Obama told small business owners that they didn't build their own businesses.(Again, not so.)

That the Obama administration appeases and sides with terrorists and enemies of the United States.(Also not so.)

That Obama weakened welfare rules to win votes—wink, wink—from "his base." (Really not so.)

It was objections to Romney's arguably race-tinged welfare assault—raised by mainstream media journalists—that prompted Newhouse to declare the Romney crew's disdain for fact-checking.

The list goes on. Steve Benen, who writes for Rachel Maddow's blog, chronicled 917 of what he calls Romney "lies."

What We Already Know

There are a number of conclusions that can be drawn from the 2012 presidential contest without trying to predict the winner.
...
Truth: An equally significant development has been the strategic decision of the Romney campaign to set new standards in the use of untrue campaign claims.

The ultimate test case of whether it is possible to lie and get away with it will be the outcome in Ohio, where Romney is running ads in open disregard of the truth.

Over the past two weeks, with Ohio once again a key battleground, the Romney campaign has falsely alleged in speeches and in television commercials that Chrysler plans to shift Jeep manufacturing and jobs from the United State to China.

“I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep, now owned by the Italians, is thinking of moving all production to China,” Romney told a rally in Defiance, Ohio on Oct. 25. His commercial declares:

Obama took GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy and sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China. Mitt Romney will fight for every American job.

Glen Kessler, the Washington Post fact checker, gave Romney his worst rating, four Pinocchios, for the speech and the ad. Ohio newspapers have written tough editorials and news stories challenging Romney.

If Romney wins Ohio, every campaign in future elections is going to give much more serious consideration to lying and to open defiance of media rebuttals as a legitimate campaign expedient.

According to the pastor who delivered the benediction at Obama's inauguration, and who Obama awarded the Medal of Freedom. Between this dude and Jeremiah Wright, BHO has some pretty extremist spiritual leaders.

I particularly like how Reverend Lowery closed his remarks at the inauguration, "Lord,... we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man -- and when white will embrace what is right."

Dutch Newspaper Reports Romney Avoided $100 Million in Taxes
This morning, investigative reporters at a quality Dutch newspaper, De Volkskrant, published a story that Mitt Romney avoided $100 million in dividend taxes using a complex route that ran through The Netherlands. The mechanism used an arcane clause in the tax treaties that determine which country can tax which type of income when a construction, in this case a private equity fund, runs through multiple countries. Some of the data came from legal documents filed with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. The reporters repeatedly asked Romney to comment on the story but he refused. Here is a translation of the article.

Obama:'I will work with anybody of any party'

President Obama took his campaign to the battleground state of Ohio Sunday night, telling supporters in Cincinnati that he would work "with anybody of any party to move this country forward."

danny BOY, since Obama CAN'T run on his abysmal record of failed 'leadership' over the last four years (8% unemployment, fiscal irresponsibility w/$1.1 TRILLION dollar yearly deficits), accusing Romney of Obama's lies is pathetically transparent.

"Obama's entire bid for the presidency rests on a foundation of evasions and lies."

There, fixed that for you, BOY.

Obama's very strong record...

4.5 million jobs saved
Cut taxed for 160 million Americans
Wall Street reform passed
18 tax cuts for small businesses
Unfair credit
card fees
eliminated
466,000 new manufacturing jobs
$1 trillion in spending cuts
Protected reproductive rights
Stem cell research funded
Fuel efficiency standards doubled
US oil production at 8 year high
Natural gas production at all-time high
Renewable energy production up 27%
First Latina Supreme Court Justice appointed
$100 billion invested in science and research
Iraq war ended
Libya liberated
Osama bin Laden dead
Incentives to hire unemployed veterans
"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" ended
Unemployment benefits extended
Equal pay for women protected
Health care reform passed
Seniors' drug costs lowered
College Pell Grants doubled
Guaranteed coverage for contraception
Medicare and Social Security protected
Auto industry saved

Given the historic levels of obstruction and undermining by the opposition that this President's had to contend with, this is a damn solid record that Obama and Democrats are justifiably proud of.

Where's Romney's record as governor? Can a rightwinger list anything similar for Romney?

By every objective measure - every one!- the US economy is better off than when Obama took office....

Four years ago, the economy was shrinking; now it's growing.

Four years ago, the economy was hemorrhaging jobs; now it's gaining jobs.

Four years ago, the unemployment rate was going up; now it's going down.

Four years ago, the stock market was crashing; now it's reaching new heights.

Four years ago, the deficit was getting bigger; now it's getting smaller.

Four years ago, the American auto industry was on the verge of collapse; now it's thriving.

Hell yes there's a record for Obama to run on.

More record to run on ...

Retail sales even stronger than predicted...

----------

Retail sales point to stronger economic growth

(Reuters)- Retail sales rose in September as Americans stepped up purchases of everything from cars to electronics, a sign that consumer spending is driving faster economic growth.

Other U.S. data on Monday pointed to an economy feeling the effects of cooling global growth, with New York state factory activity shrinking in October.

But consumer spending remains the U.S. economy's biggest engine, and expectations for third-quarter economic growth improved after the Commerce Department reported a 1.1 percent increase in retail sales during September.

The reading, which beat analysts' forecasts, builds on other signs of growing economic momentum, including a drop in the jobless rate last month and a rise in consumer confidence.

"The news flow on the U.S. economy keeps getting better," said Chris Williamson, an economist at Markit in London.

More record to run on ...

Industrial production numbers higher than predicted...

----------

Industrial Production Rises 0.4 Percent in September

The 0.4 percent increase in September industrial production is nothing to get too excited about, but it is above expectations and I think it undermines a narrative that's been gaining force over the past several weeks about a divergence between the household sector (strong retail sales and consumer confidence numbers) and the corporate sector (weak business confidence numbers). What we see here is that on the ultimate production side indicator things are growing, just like retail sales are growing.
