danny BOY is pee-in-his-pants fearful that his socialist wet dream is falling apart so his obsessive poll-posting attitude today is "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."
Granted that they're only predictions at this juncture. My point is that you're dismissing a well-established mathematician and statistician who has accurately analyzed essentially every past political race on the basis that he works for a publication you don't like. Demonstrate more sense.

On the bright side, this all ends tomorrow. The playground-insult rhetoric will be gone and we'll have our results in a little over 36 hours (hopefully).

As opposed to some unsubstantiated bullshit that some nitwit posted on Facebook, here's a Republican who was actually arrested for multiple voting...

----------

Woman arrested in Nevada for alleged voter fraud

CARSON CITY, Nev.(AP)— FBI agents arrested a woman Friday in Las Vegas on charges that she tried to vote twice in the presidential election, Secretary of State Ross Miller said.

A criminal complaint accuses Roxanne Rubin of casting a ballot at an early voting location in Henderson on Oct. 29, then trying to vote again at a polling site in Las Vegas on the same day.

Agreed that Silver's is a respected reputation. Considering a person's employer, in this case the NY TIMES, in evaluating opinion DOES "demonstrate more sense." Failing to do so shows a LACK of it.

It may be ten DAYS before Ohio declares a winner after provisional ballots are reconciled against the absentee voting records.

We have a woman election part time worker here in Oregon that was committing voter fraud by filling in every blank oval on the election ballot to favor republicons that was left blank by the voter. The racist ignorant tea bags can go on thinking a picture identify would of prevented that, that Limbaugh juice is strong

Every systematic investigation of voter fraud has found that ineligible people simply do not vote under eligible voter's names.

It just doesn't happen.

And all hysterical claims from the right claiming it does come from either people who have been misled or bald-faced liars.

In 1957, the Ford Motor Company ran an advertising campaign that cost millions of dollars, urging the public to buy its new model car, the Edsel. Despite all the money spent, the public didn't buy the advertising, and didn't buy the car.

In 2012, thanks to the Citizens United decision, over a billion dollars was spent by the Super-Rich, urging the public to buy their new model Presidential candidate, "Edsel" Romney.........

Moral of the story: If the product ain't no good, it don't matter how much money you spend on commercials saying how great it is.

David Frum calls the wingnuts' bluff...

----------

If Romney loses the election on Tuesday, we'll hear a lot of after the fact talk about how he lost because he was too moderate, inauthentic, not a real conservative, etc. etc. etc.

Here's my test and challenge to those who will say this:

We're now heading into the climactic weekend of the election. If you believe a "real conservative" message is a winner, shouldn't you right now be publicly urging Mitt Romney to say out loud : YES I will cut taxes for the rich, YES I will cut Medicaid, YES I will reinvent Medicare as a voucher system, YES I will favor a human life amendment to ban abortion in all cases, YES I believe it's a major priority to reverse same-sex marriage, YES i was right to say let the auto industry go bankrupt, NO I don't believe in global warming, NO I don't think it's important we cover the uninsured, NO I think we have enough immigrants already, NO I won't withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, NO I don't think we should provide the existing level of food stamps and income support to the unemployed, etc. etc. etc.

Shouldn't you be urging Romney to remind Americans that Obama is an alien, a radical, somebody bent on destroying everything good and decent in America?

If that's the winning message, shouldn't you be pleading with Romney to say it now?

And if it's not the winning message now, how will it have retrospectively become the winning message on Wednesday morning?

----------

The only hope the current rightwing-extremist Republican party ever had was boldly and repeatedly lying about their actual positions.

And they know it. That's why Romney has lied his ass off over the past 18 months - deceiving the majority of America was the only hope he ever had.

GOP's excuse for losing - it's hurricane's fault, it's Christie's fault, and eventually it will be Romney's fault. What they will quickly forget is that every other primary contender (except maybe Huntsman) would be worse than Romney. Cain, Gingrich, Sanrtorum, Bachmann, Perry - how can we forget that multiple choice Romney was the only one who was not obviously a clown?

I've heard Charles Krauthammer seriously blame McCain for 2008. Don't get me wrong, a true Republican might have some ideas worth discussing (but not necessarily good ideas, Ron Paul). The problem is that modern conservative movement inhabits alternative reality, where Obama is a Kenyan socialist, FEMA constructs portable concentration camps, EPA is coming to eat your brains and invisible president attends Republican convention to chat with Clint Eastwood. The problem I have with them is not just that they are wrong on many issues, but because their insane schtick is denying us all a serious discussion we need to have about the future.

Hmmm. Surprise surprise.

CBS confirms what we all knew: Obama lied for three weeks and during the presidential debate in claiming he immediately said the murder of Ambassador Stevens and the Benghazi was the result of "terrorism".

danny BOY, blaming Romney for Obama's methods, ie. "deceiving the majority of America", is a bit disingenuous.

Notice that Mr. Romney did not pump $50 million of his own money into the campaign in 2012 like in 2008. Think maybe he knows something and decided not to make the same mistake twice? Can't take a chance of losing the car elevator and other extravagances in the new house because one bets on a losing candidate...oneself. I hope I'm right. Mr. Silver now has Mr. Romney down to a one in seven or eight chance of winning the EC. Logically, he ought to be right. Trusting 51% of the American people to be logical for a second time, when they are still hurting financially and upset about that, is another question. I am somewhat heartened by the fact that millions, probably over five million different individuals have contributed to the president's campaign. He's going to need about 70 million votes to win, but that is a large number of people who are motivated enough to put their money where their mouths are, and typically those willing to do so represent only the tip of the iceberg.

Can a ‘post-truth’ candidate be elected president?

If there is one constant to this campaign, it’s that Romney has startled many observers by operating from the basic premise that there is literally no set of boundaries he needs to follow when it comes to the veracity of his assertions, the transparency he provides about his fundraising and finances, and the specificity of his plans for the country.

On the dishonesty front, this has grown more pronounced in recent days, with Romney’s embrace of the Jeep-to-China lie as a closing argument in Ohio and his absurd attacks on Obama for urging people to vote.

But the key to this is how elemental it has long been to his campaign. Romney’s entire bid for the presidency rests on a foundation of evasions and lies.

Campaign 2012: The End of Political Truth?

The Republican presidential candidate built much of his campaign on basic untruths about the president. Romney blasted Obama for breaking a “promise” to keep unemployment below 8 percent. He claimed the president was “apologizing for America abroad.” He accused Obama of adding “nearly as much debt as all the previous presidents combined” and of cutting $500 million from Medicare. None of this was true.(See here, here, here, and here.)

All of these apocryphal statements have been essential parts of Romney’s fundamental case against Obama: He’s failed to revive the economy and he’s placed the nation at risk.

Rather than stick to a discourse premised on actual differences (he believes in government investments and would raise taxes on the wealthy to fund them; I want to shrink government and cut taxes)— and bend the truth within acceptable boundaries to bolster the argument — Romney has repeatedly relied on elemental falsehoods.
