Both of them are garbage. Regardless of what happens, the next four years is going to be ugly.

To pick one and defend them as the lesser of two evils? Fine, I can see cases being made on both sides of the aisle. But to go so far as to claim one will be any kind of shining beacon poised to raise the United States back into a dominant and enlightened world superpower? A laughable endeavor.

...How do you boys feel about that idea? Agreeable or does anyone here legitimately feel that a prosperous utopia is right around the corner under the watch of either Obama or Romney?

Psychological projection is a form of defense mechanism in which someone attributes thoughts, feelings, and ideas which are perceived as undesirable to someone else.
For example, someone who harbors racist ideas while believing that racism is socially undesirable might come to believe that a friend is racist, projecting his or her racism onto the other person.
Projection may manifest in all kinds of ways, and while it may be a defense mechanism, it can also be very destructive.
..........
Confronting racism isn't "playing the race card," as if doing the morally correct thing is some sort of political tactic.

He's quite the drugstore psychologist isn't he.
He's a good one to offer these phoney psychological diagnosis such as psychological projection...

I recently diagnosed him with an extreme case of Anti-social Personality Disorder that truly describes him.

Now this disorder is one of the hardest to correct...many psychologist try but fail. These individuals lack empathy for people they have formed associations with. Often these people end up in jail or other types of institutons due to their extreme lack of empathy. Often con artist or manipulating money from others is a common characteristic. Some form legal legitimate means to accomplish this but some do not.

However, I. Recently offered old Taxi a free Frontal Labotomy to help overcome his prognosis. Not sure if this will work but its worth a try.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZ

His psychological projection diagnosis is a manipulation...
Along with his other lies and misrpresentations...
Another characteristic of an antisocial type is that;
They actually get themselves to somehow believe their lies and distortions.
This is projection either it just a symptom of this disorder
They do this to become convincing enough to do their manipulations

Many pschologist agree that a single form of therapy isn't effective. Some have used combinations with limited success.

But the Frontal Labotomy...i m not sure of its effectiveness either but
I think he could certainly benefit from one..

I always come on here to find out something new. Some point that could sway my view on something or the other. Please Mrs. TaxNoMore, If you'd like to argue a point on here, don't go just reposting the same things over and over. I'll agree you won any actual argument that you have made through the power of the "I know you are, but what am I" method taught at all major law schools. It's just getting old. Last post I'll make. Just thought you could actually do a little more good for your cause if you didn't continually repeat stretched truths. Do you not realize that it's the reason none likes or trusts your party. Rush's manipulated masses, hanging onto every word of an as-hole. If I wanted to hear one, I'd break wind.

Wingnuts - Rant and rave about how much you hate the President, but it doesn't change the math.

----------

FiveThirtyEight forecast...

Electoral Vote:
Obama: 299.0; +10.7 since Oct 23
Romney: 239.0; -10.7 since Oct 23

Chance of Winning:
Obama: 77.4%; +9.3 since Oct 23
Romney: 22.6%; -9.3 since Oct 23

----------

Nate Silver runs hundreds of simulations - every conceivable combination of electoral college votes - and Barack Obama wins 77.4% of the time while Mitt Romney wins 22.6% of the time.

You're backing a loser, wingnuts. The sooner you face that fact, the less despair you'll have next week. LOL!

Obama can also thank FEMA people for working 24/7 to provide relief and let the media report that Romney wants to abolish it. In Ohio, Romney was peppered by reporters with 14 questions about his statement earlier this year about abolishing FEMA. He refused to answer. When independent voters see Obama working with FEMA to help people get on with their lives and then hear that Romney wants to abolish the agency, it can't be helpful to Romney.

So far, federal officials have gotten good marks for their relief efforts. Even Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), a Romney surrogate, has said: "The president has been outstanding in this." Obama and Christie will travel together to inspect the storm-damaged New Jersey shore today. Why are they working together? For Obama, this is an implicit appeal to those voters who see bipartisanship as the holy grail of politics. For Christie, hanging out with the President gives him some national publicity, which people may vaguely remember in 2016 if Obama wins and Christie runs for President in 2016.

Romney is going to start campaigning again today, but the Obama is going to own the news cycle no matter what Romney does. Romney has to be exceedingly careful not to attack Obama while Obama is out there "helping" people (as if walking along the beach with Christie helps anyone). Romney would be advised to be positive today and talk about how he managed crises in the companies Bain owned, but being positive does not come naturally to him.

The closeness of the race is emphasized today by the unusual situation of four key swing states being extact ties (when the average of this week's polls are rounded to an integer). The states are Florida, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Iowa. Romney is leading in North Carolina and Obama is leading in Colorado and Nevada. It is really going down to the wire. However, note that Obama has 280 electoral votes without any of these states. He could lose them all and still be reelected. For him, hanging onto Ohio is a win,no matter what Romney does. This is why Romney has been trying everything he can think of there.

Romney Avoids FEMA Questions.

Mitt Romney's campaign said he wouldn't do away with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, but it's unclear how a President Romney might overhaul disaster relief programs – a topic that was revived in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

During the GOP primaries, when FEMA was facing a funding crunch, Mr. Romney suggested at a June 2011 debate that he'd like states to have more control over disaster relief funding and efforts.

ONE PROBLEM:

Letting the states take care of their own disaster relief would be a disaster in itself.
Only the federal government can muster the tens of billions of dollars it will take to recover from a disaster. The states are too strapped for cash to invest in a viable disaster relief program.
Plus the federal government has the massive resources of Army Corps of Engineers, and can call on the nation’s Army Reserve, Army National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Naval Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve to come to a states rescue.
The idea that we should let each state rescue itself in emergencies goes against the concept of a United States of America where all of us come together to aid states hit by disasters.

Romney doesnt have a clue how to run the government.

This storm is a perfect example of why we need FEMA. YES, Dubya screwed it up by gutting it and making it an ineffective agent of Homeland Security - remember Katrina! this one is bigger!

When a storm like this - and like Katrina - happens across many states, the most sensible & logical thing is to have FEDERAL people coordinating and working with state governments. Having no federal coordination makes as much sense as each state having its own currency.

There is NO advantage to eliminating FEMA - that is one reason why Katrina was such a terrible tragedy, and why (mostly Republican) governors were screaming at the time for Federal help.

For the Federal gov to block-grant FEMA, makes no sense - it would not save any money, and there would be no coordination among the many states feeling the impact of the storm.

Huricane Sandy is paying no attention to state lines! Go FEMA!

Stay safe, but VOTE when you can, y'all!

O & JOE - Forward!(NOT BACKWARDS TO THE 2 DISASTERS: DUBYA & KATRINA!!)

WOW.. some people are simply uneducated. If the states handle disaster recovery our of their own funds, they would quickly go bankrupt. FEMA is like and insurance policy. Since not every state will have a natrual disaster at the same time, money flows to where it is needed.
-
If each state was only allotted a certain amount of money every year and a disaster strikes your state, you would not be able to pay for the recovery right away, you would have to save up for several years, if not decades to pay for it.
-
This disaster alone will cost BILLIONS - do we give BILLIONS to EVERY STATE so they can handle possible disasters?
-
ROMNEY is unqualified to be President, he simply lacks foresight and only panders to his base. HE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. THE MAN HAS NO "CHARACTER".

HAPPENING TODAY: OBAMA WILL VIEW HURRICANE DAMAGE IN NEW JERSEY WITH CHRIS CHRISTIE. President Obama will travel to New Jersey on Wednesday to view the destruction wrought by Hurricane Sandy on the state. Scheduled to appear with Governor Chris Christie, Obama has suspended personal appearances at campaign events to respond to the storm reports ABC’s Matt Larotonda. Speaking at the Red Cross headquarters in Washington Tuesday, Obama said his thoughts and prayers were with those who lost loved ones in the devastating hurricane, which has claimed at least ten lives in New York City alone. http://abcn.ws/Sv8XOf

Romney is still on the campaign trail for the rest of the week,he has no intention of seeing the disaster area along the east coast from hurricane Sandy. Obama has suspended his campaign for now to talk and see the people that were affected by the storm. Again, it's all about Romney
