Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., has joined former Vice President Al Gore in attributing President Barack Obama’s desultory performance during the Oct. 3 debate in Denver, Colo. to the high altitude.

"I personally really do believe that the altitude may have had something to do with it," Kerry said in the Santa Fe New Mexican Wednesday.

Mitt Romney’s smashing victory in the Denver debate is credited with reviving his formerly beleaguered campaign. Kerry has impersonated Romney in Obama’s debate preparations.

Gore was widely ridiculed when he came up with the altitude excuse the day after the debate.

Kerry acknowledged that Obama’s indecision was a factor. "I ... think he wasn't settled in his own mind completely on his strategy. And I think that held him back. I was surprised, obviously."

Things looked a lot better the night before the debate, Kerry said.“I thought we had a terrific night the night before when we went through it all, and everybody was a little surprised, and he was surprised."

Obama won this debate, which was apparent to anyone who was watching. He also won on the facts.

One more thing on the naval issue,

"The United States has 11 supercarrier strike groups: China doesn’t even have an aircraft carrier, let alone a supercarrier strike group. China has purchased unwanted medium-sized aircraft carriers from Moscow and is tinkering with them, though none sail. China is believed to be designing its own 50,000-ton conventional-power aircraft carrier, which would be similar to what the United States called a “fleet carrier” during World War II, and not as powerful as the 100,000-ton nuclear supercarriers the United States builds at enormous expense."

When women heard Obama framing women's issues as economic issues, I knew he'd found a winning message. "Taxes and jobs", as mentioned by Forbes above, include things like the cost of your healthcare plan, and whether or not that healthcare plan that you pay for covers the things that you need, including contraception. These aren't separate issues for many women, including married women with families. Losing the ability to plan your family as you see fit means less opportunity for women in the workforce. And this discussion also includes whether or not your employer is allowed to impose their morality on you through control of your healthcare plan. Should your Christian boss get to force you to live like a Christian if that's not your belief? Romney stands for that, while Obama opposes it. For women, there's a clear choice in this election, and it's Obama.

Romney's "Binder Full Of Women" Comment May Have Cost Him The Female Vote and the Election:

Women should get flexible hours at work to get home and take care of the kids and make dinner .?????

A new Public Policy Polling survey in Virginia,
conducted on behalf of Health Care for America Now, finds Barack Obama
continuing to hold onto a lead in the state at 49% to 47% for Mitt Romney. PPP
has conducted three Virginia polls since the first Presidential debate and has
found Obama with a 1-3 point advantage on each of them.

Key findings from the survey include:

-By a 53/45 margin voters trust Obama more than
Romney to stand up for the middle class. And by a 50/43 spread they trust Obama
more to make sure that the wealthiest American pay their fair share of taxes.

-Obama has a 51/47 lead with seniors, which may be
driven in part by the fact that 51% of them trust Obama more to protect
Medicare, compared to 46% of voters who pick Romney on that question.

-Obama’s leading 54/42 with women, 91/7 with
African Americans, and 54/38 with voters under 30. Romney’s ahead 53/43 with
men and 59/38 with white voters. The candidates are basically tied among
independents with 45% going for Romney and 44% for Obama.

So basically, Obama leads with women, seniors and a majority see him as a better choice for Medicare, taxes and the middle class. It's +4 for Democrats so it's not an outrageous sample.

Katy Perry wears her ballot at Obama rally

Katy Perry's doing her best get-out-the vote effort: At a rally for President Barack Obama, she wore a tight white dress imprinted like a ballot, and a square box on her right hip filled in the names of Obama and Joe Biden.

Perry gave a free concert at a park in a historically minority neighborhood just northwest of downtown Las Vegas to screaming fans at about 9 p.m., the same time Air Force One landed at McCarran International Airport across town.

Obama later told the crowd, "I believe in you. I need you to keep believing in me."

The Las Vegas campaign event drew more than 10,000 people, according to fire officials and organizers, with long lines still on sidewalks during Perry's 30-minute performance before Obama arrived.

The singer opened with a rendition of Al Green's soul hit, "Let's Stay Together," and played five songs, including "Teenage Dream," before ending with a thumping bass drum version of "Firework."

Perry, who recently also played a free concert at an Obama event in Los Angeles, paused before the last song Wednesday to exhort people in the Las Vegas crowd to vote early.

"Don't wait. Go tomorrow," she said. "How many of you are 18 here? It's going to be your first time, right?"

Maybe Mitt Romney will go have a beer with a bunch of rapists after the election and he could lend a symathetic ear.

This would help him get over the loss that's coming his way.

Power back to the people....
