Can we get any real nightlife in this town. Anything besides these hole in a wall or hold house dive bars that put a DJ in the corner and call it dance music nite.

You got that right. Now we are getting some gay Hobby store. What do we need that for?

A Five Guys in the area is long overdue but not a positive thing for our waist lines....
Has the best burgers and the meat they use is from local farmers who grass/grain feed their beef and don't add all the cray (hormones, antibotics) others do, which will be better for our waistlines and our health...How about a Toy's R US. We need a toy store like we used to have years ago.

May use better quality beef but their burger and fries are still 3 days worth of calories in one meal...but sooooo worth it. Life is too short not to enjoy a good burger and bag of fries every once in a while!

You realize both of those intersections will be bypassed by some traffic that will use Wilson avenue to get to Eisenhower, right?

Dance clubs have never worked and never will in the area (i.e The Ox, Woody's and a ton of other names). There is no need for that type of reckless enviroment in a small town. They are great when they first open, but then the wrong crowd starts ruining the places.

This is going to put the mall under ...... So glad to see fresh stores coming onboard !!
You are to be commended for your POSITIVE comment. We shop Target in our Florida neighborhood and have never experienced all the "bad" things being said about Target in other blogs. I shopped there on "black Friday" and it was a great experience, and great values, saved lots of money too!

No we can't, and we wont for the simple reason that Hanover is not an entertainment town. People in Hanover go to bed early and the town itself closes early. Night club builders don't open nice clubs in sleepy working towns.

Maybe they could put a gay bar with the Hobby Lobby. I sure it would flourish.

West York wrote:
The target in West York is the worst store you could ever go in.Dirty diapers lying around in the store. Check the food you buy there, sometimes the jars and box have been opened. Sales people are right down rude and lazy. I also had a problem with the sales slip not having the right amounts added up. I like Walmart-they have the best prices and are CLEAN.When you go to Walmart they go out of their way to help you find an item.
West York is a much different area than Hanover and while for the most part I love Walmart, they have not been the best at customer service.

Yuk, you can keep the filthy Olive Garden, I'll stick with the much more personal and better quality food/service of our own La Cucina!
I know some people will graze at Olive Garden out of sheep mentality, but I grew up near Little Italy in Baltimore (simply awesome), and La Cucina is REAL Italian food, where Olive garden is just old TV dinners with a Frank Santra CD playing in the background...no contest.
Hobby Lobby is interesting, I'll check that out in hopes it's more than scrap-booking.
I love La Cucina, I know the owners, but I like Olive Garden too and its because I have a sheep mentality

Im glad to see some new businesses coming to town. We need some where to shop besides walmart and there will be more jobs. That end of town is already pretty hairy with traffic and Im sure it will just get worse now but we cant have it all.

There is no danger of the new shopping area putting the mall under. This has been done a long time ago. The best thing that they could do with the Hanover Mall is level it. They have very few stores that actually draw the people to the location. I can't understand that more of the stores haven't closed. Jerry & Sal's is about the only place that is decent in the mall.

Book store? They are a thing of the past, dropping like flys! With the internet you soon wont find a book anywhere!

Hobby Lobby is much more than a scrapbook store. I'm excited about this, the closest one is in Chambersburg and that's a haul. I'm not sure Hanover needs many more restaurants but I do enjoy five guys. There are at least 3 Best Buys within 30 minutes of Hanover, so I'm not sure that's necessary either.
3 Best Buys within 30 minutes of Hanover???? Where....I only know of one in East York and its more than a 30 minute drive..........The one in Owings mills is about an hour.

Well, thanks to J. Myers Homes, Ryland Homes,S. Hanover Walmart, and commercial permits like this one given out like candy for the sake of a tax base, the local antiquated roads of Hanover will be a nightmare Freddy Kruger wouldn't want to drive himself.

21st century suburban sprawl and super sized shopping centers just won't function on the Rt 94, 30 corridor.

And what's with some of this racial rhetoric? Local government is the only one approving this as far as I know. I'm sure some of these Mexican store fronts are easier on the eyes than the proliferation of these local tattoo parlors catering to the local obese toothless wonders....
