New stores to Hanover

Construction crews work on attaching steel trusses Thursday while building the new Target store at the Gateway Hanover shopping center on Carlisle Street.

Yuk, you can keep the filthy Olive Garden, I'll stick with the much more personal and better quality food/service of our own La Cucina!
I know some people will graze at Olive Garden out of sheep mentality, but I grew up near Little Italy in Baltimore (simply awesome), and La Cucina is REAL Italian food, where Olive garden is just old TV dinners with a Frank Santra CD playing in the background...no contest.
Hobby Lobby is interesting, I'll check that out in hopes it's more than scrap-booking.

The target in West York is the worst store you could ever go in.Dirty diapers lying around in the store. Check the food you buy there, sometimes the jars and box have been opened. Sales people are right down rude and lazy. I also had a problem with the sales slip not having the right amounts added up. I like Walmart-they have the best prices and are CLEAN.When you go to Walmart they go out of their way to help you find an item.

how about the positive side of jobs, jobs, jobs. lots of people still need jobs, jobs, jobs. The hanover mall is outdated and is never busy, The busiest store @ that mall is Verizon, majority of people go to york, harrisburg, or maryland to shop. Stop whining about it, if you don't like it don't shop there. The only thing i agree with is that we have too many restaurants already. I to am from Baltimore and Little Italy is the best, but La Cucina just plain sucks, they are very overpriced, do you realize how cheap it is to make pasta???? Hoping the unemployed find work & people living off the state actually fill out applications & become independent because these are our tax dollars hard @ work and they need to ween people off the system instead of encouraging them to keep having babies they cannot afford because it only increase what the state already gives them. How about a one year cut off???

I see alot of road construction in that area over the past months but it still won't be able to handle all the congestion of traffic squeezed into that end of town. The light at BROADWAY/EISENHOWER is a disaster. The intersection at CARLISLE/EISENHOWER is clogged right now with traffic. Wait until the new shopping area opens.

We need a decent book store. I hope a Borders or Barnes & Noble is on the list. Glad to see new jobs are coming to the area; we need them!

I hope Bill Reaver actually lives in Hartsville, SC. We don't want or need his type thinking in our area. I agree with PROUD OF HANOVER.....pure and simple, but it is nice to have the choices.

Hobby Lobby is much more than a scrapbook store. I'm excited about this, the closest one is in Chambersburg and that's a haul. I'm not sure Hanover needs many more restaurants but I do enjoy five guys. There are at least 3 Best Buys within 30 minutes of Hanover, so I'm not sure that's necessary either.

You realize both of those intersections will be bypassed by some traffic that will use Wilson avenue to get to Eisenhower, right?

I don't plan on getting to Timonium Md, Harrisburg , or opposite side of york bestbuys with a speeding ticket just to get there in 30 mins. I'd love a best buy!

I agree with "Hanover Pride" and wanting growth for jobs etc. I also look forward to two of the stores coming in. I do think the traffic congestion in Hanover is a major issue facing this town lately. Traveling out of this town is horrible, its all funneled to get behind a 70 year old that should have been retested on his driving skills. I don't think the congestion in this area is worth the stores, but hey i wont complain!
