Why do we need a Lieutenant Governor? Do any of you people know how much this office pays, check it out, you may not pick anyone to take this position. He makes $146,926, but I've heard that he still retains his place as a representative with that pay check and gets to live in a mansion. Maybe someone knnows for sure.

Given that several Lieutenant Governors are still alive, are you saying they all live in the same mansion now, Big Brother style?

Because, honestly, I would not be surprised if FOX picked up that series.

"There goes Robert Jubelirer getting into another drunken fist fight with Joe Scarnati!"

I think you're wrong, they do not continue receiving that paycheck and they are no longer a "representative" after leaving the post, although they may get a sweet pension (like all state employees).

And lets be honest, 140k is a drop in state's bucket. The LG assumes the role of highest officer of the State Senate (much like the Vice President) and steps in if the governor is unable to be governor anymore.

And, although elected separately in the primary, the Lieutenant Governor runs on the same ticket as governor in the primary election. So you can't just not vote for LG and the position will disappear.
