As we were told, this merger would be great for everyone! Because all of our routes got consolidated (CUT) WE THE DISTRIBUTORS would have a better quality of life! Could anyone out here please define " quality of life" ? Less driving, more time with family. We are now " married" to these stores! Stores feel that because we have so much space now, they want extra service, which means more work, more time in the field! The route guys are working six to seven days a week.
I guess if there was 12 days in a week, this would be a better quality of life!
All for less $$$!!!!

well here in the va. area we just lost more space in food lions, which ere one of our better accounts. we lost our end cap dislays for wise products. just another shot to uor business. looks like we are going down hill faster than any of us thought we would.can't wait to see what we loose next.but don't worry we still get to pay for our routes with the bullshit numbers that sl came up with.

They keep making the bags smaller and smaller. Our Kruncher bags decreased from 9 oz. to 8 oz. Eventually people will just start buying Walmart's Great Value store brand. Much much cheaper. What do you guys think?

News Wire March 8, 2012 "Snyder's-Lance has begun switching to cage-free eggs for its product in which eggs are an ingredient" "The humane society of the United States applauds the company..."
REALLY we spent 2 weeks talking about 57 states and Snyder-Lance was using caged chicken eggs for it product.

Why not call Mr levy The Communication and Community Relations for Snyder-Lance. Ask him about issues with you Snyder-Lance contacts.

Are they the more concerned about cage free chicken eggs or their distributors who spent tens of thousands of dollars to deliver their products.

Just another random thought from MR G Dickle

I'm 6 months into the IO gig,and so far it is working out well. As a Lance rep I had 56 stops a week and worked between 70 and 100 hours. Now I work about half that much, have less than 30 stops and am making a little more money. There are frustrations such as the warehouse not having product I need and new items not being approved in accounts, but there are more pros than cons. You get out of it what you put into it.

i agree with you inmypants, im in my 7th week and have the same feelings. my work load never changed because im running the exact route i had when i was a company route. Im making more money, and actually feel free to make decisions. Im getting weekly checks, keeping expenses down, and quite liking it.

Us IO's that were Snyders owners before the merge are getting screwed and they (company) knows it and could care less. We took a commission cut, our route payments doubled, longer hours, our expenses have almost doubled, esp the Gro routes because you cannot work 7 days a week so they have to hire help and promo sharing is cutting into what profit that's left. In some cases we have taken a 20k a year cut. Then factor in rising fuel costs and we are out of business. Thanks SL for destroying the lives of so many decent people.

As stated in previous posts from former Snyders IO's about Lance Io's commission rates. Lance IO's will benefit from the merger due to the fact you were making less commission than now. So obviously on the money aspect you benefit. Talk to fomer Snyder's IO's and ask how many are making more than before, if the the weekly sales are the same. Everyone already knows that answer, none. Commission from 19.5% down to 18% on Snyders items and partner brands.

Like stated before the supermarket route IO's are happy with their routes, but unhappy working more and making less. The stress of dealing with c-stores consistently without product on a daily basis and having to listen to the managers belittle IO's because of no product is embarassing. The managers knows why there's no product, but they would never talk to mgmt like they do to IO's.

$1.6 billion company and S-L doesn't have Saturday warehouse hours? Loading from 12-5 only, and that's including no loading when products are being unloaded at the warehouse? I heard there will be coin operated bathrooms going foward. just to make S-L more money. And a gate at the warehouse where you have to pay a fee to load product so the IO can make S-L the $1.6 billion company it is today. I think they should shut off the lights and save money and have the IO's buy Magliner flashlights on their dime to pick their order in the warehouse. Free advice S-L on saving costs...

There are many people who say that they do not want to buy these routes. The problem is that they do not have another alternative plan. IOs are extremely unhappy with the current commission structure. Not to mention, the guys who have to buy their routes can't sell them in the first three years without getting penalized. They will have to pay extra points if their routes are sold within the first three years. This company constantly sticks their middle finger up and points it to we, the distributors! They are not saying that we are #1, though! Let's unite and stick both of our middle fingers up to them ! Guys, they need us as bad as we need them. With a little organizing, we can make a difference...

inmypants im glad you think your better off ,but please 70-100 hours a week you better pull your pants up and move faster, I worked for Lance almost 17 years had 60+ accounts a week and never worked that many hours, you also have no health ins no vacations no 401k etc etc, what happens when your truck breaks down? Yes the former IO's were screwed but so were the Lance reps when the devils merged two wrongs don't make a right , Im just glad I was lucky enough to find another job good luck to everyone and keep fighting

It seems like many of you guys are stuck in the good old days. Face it, the economy has changed and the days of making 70k to deliver product is over. Adapt or get a new job... Good luck finding one. Just saying
