Walmart is not letting snyders deliver because they are trying to control inventory. They don't want more product on the shelf than your amount of weekly sales. So if you do 1200 a week in walmart then you can only have 1200 on the shelf.

Target has everyday allowance but only drives my margin down 1-1.5%, plus when its on sale its usually scan based so it dont affect you. correcion---wal mart everyday drives it down 3% NOT 5% i said before ooooops my bad. just look at your invoice which DONT show the allowance but only their price and compare it to what you buy it for at the warehouse. remember soh pays 81% and me 19% of differce. yours might be more or less.

the further your a/r's are the harder it is to get a grasp of what you need to buy for the week. i load almost everyday and can cut back towards the end of the week to prevent buying too much and going in the hole.this way i get to positive by sat. being on 2 day terms. i get payed something every week. if i dont its cause i bought too much but you will have product on your truck next week thats already payed for. it will equal itself out but at somepoint you have to sell it all and be empty. if you are able to load everyday i suggest one day terms, empty your truck on sat. then buy on sat for mon delivery. this has got to be an ez way to track your sales minus loads. i dont know how guys on 7 day terms do it!!oh,i dont like it. anyway you look at it its a terrible way to do business. if you dont mind not getting payed every week keep stuffing your truck and carry that cost w/you. but at somepoint your gonna have to empty you truck to get payed.

I did look at one of my Wal-Mart invoices. And you are right, it doesn't show any kind of promo allowance on it. I do see that their cost is much lower than normal cost (It is actually lower than what the IO cost will be). Now just so I am clear, this everyday allowance will be split also just like the other promotional allowances? If so, why doesn't it show up on the invoice? I guess what I'm asking is this: How will SOH-Lance know to add back their part of the Wal-Mart allowance to the settlement statement if it doesn't show up on the invoice as an allowance? This route has never been IO before so there isn't anything to look at for comparison/reference.

4 day terms are best! the trick is to manage your loads. Thursday should be your biggest load. This is also the starting number your running against next week! So if you load 5000.00 and sell it all before monday you get a big check because you have no numbers to run against. If you load 3000.00 on monday that plus the 5000.00 equaling 8000.00 is what you have to sell before saturday, for your next check. So to control your numbers only load on mondays what you must have and get your running numbers set. The second load is how you control things. If you have a big push for weekend buildouts you make big checks just realize that may be for two weeks. This happen to me for a bogo that I pushed out prior to the week of the bogo. Got 5000.00 and no check the next week then back to 800.00 the following week. so 5800.00 / by 3 :) Always add the two loads and that's what you must hit for a check. Light on mondays is the key to four day terms, and big loads on thursday means you have all you need for the big weekends:)

don't forget to add your route payment, truck payment if you have one, and the 35.00 service charge to your numbers, so you can figure out exactly whet your check will be:)

they do add back promos. make a fake ticket for walmart only and run end of day. promos will appear on route summary report. then you gotta figure soh % to be added back in for total charge sales. the route summary report gonna be your checks/balances when figuring out your total charge sales for the day/week.

this was a heated discussion on this forum back in april. go to pages 8-9. there are valid points for both ways from Atlanta GA IO, Yaz, and bootyman. its your business run how you see fit. i personally dont want to owe soh any more than i already do but on the other hand an advance can be nice too especially when your mortgage is due but somewhere along the line soh will get their monies owed to them.

There aren't any promo numbers on any of my route summary reports. They are reports for a CO. They just show inventory figures.

do you buy your product now? are you an i/o or are you being payed a salary right now? cause if you are an i/o you need to demand the promo cost to be recorded for you to see. how else are you gonna figure your settlement each week? when i run end of day reports the last report is ROUTE SUMMARY REPORT which states total promo dollars(soh and partner brands).

I am salary right now until all the paperwork clears and I can close on the route. I am guessing the route summary report will change and show all the promo costs once I become an IO?

hey everybody, hope all is well. i have a couple questions that i hope someone can answer for me.
when they offered you a route what happens if you don't want that route? will they offer another route or are you f%$#$& ? when they bought your snyders route back from you did they use the same multiple that you bought it for a couple years ago and are they charging the same multiples for the new routes?

If you turn down the route offered you move to the back of the pack. They are trying to get a % point or 2 higher on the new routes while cutting commissions. They are trying to nickel and dime everybody across the country. All that adds up. In our contract it states that if the company wants to buy the route back it will be at the same ratio they sold it to us. That's the way it is here on the west coast of FL. I hear it's different in other parts of the country. Down here you make your profit on your route increase and how much you've paid off your note.

Ok for the ones that is not going to make it . I'm one of the guys that couldn't make a living at this. I received a letter today that I owed our loan amount back to SOH and not Bank of America wich we borrowed the money from. I cant wait to see how much money that I'm going to make after they sell my old route. By the way it stated that we would owe anthing outstanding after the route is sold. According to the guys at the warehouse they were going to divide the route up to make two routes. If you are thinking about buying a route please do not make the mistake. We went 5 weeks without a check.
