As a Lance rep I'm really looking forward to distributing the Snyder's product. Down here it is really under developed. The guys who previously distributed Snyders didn't push it and were only selling about 1/6 of what we have been selling with Lance. Snyder's isn't even in the mods in most of the Wal-marts yet. As for you Snyder's guys, you are going to make a mint off of the lance crackers. They fly off the shelves, especially around the time the kids start back to school.

I grew up with Lance crackers. I love the captain crackers with chesse and chive.

As for back to school, we will miss it this year seeing the kids go back to school in Aug and our merge doesnt begin til Sept. I have heard on BOGO weeks some of the routes run 20k+.

Ok, gotta jump in here. Been reading he posts and agree with alot of what people are saying. Bottom line is the only way to really get answers from Snyders is through a lawyer. Snyders will continue to do what they want and tell IO's what they want on their own time. From what I've read with the past lawsuits, it was the only way Snyders answered specific questions. Unless everyone on this thread is willing to place a class action on Snyders then keep guessing.
Mass IO. I think we have the same contract and it clearly states Snyders can buy our routes back for the average of the last 3 IO's that have sold. I don't know that ratio, but I do know it's more than 10:1, commenting on the people west of the northeast which stated the ratio 10:1 buyback from Snyders. I think some one from the south said their routes at one time was going for 35:1. that's incredible. The IO's st the ratio and potential buyers will agree with the terms or not.
The way Snyders will construct the new routes is not an easy project. Probablywhy it is taking loger than usual. I agree with the post where the new routes will be smaller in size, less than 10,000 average. This way the route will be maintained to their satisfaction. And it will force the IO to go out and seek more space if they want to maximize their route. Who doesn't want less accounts, less towns and cities, which equals to less expenses? The other hand there are people who are averaging 15-20,000+/week. With every merger, bought out company, and take over there are going to be happy and unhappy workers.
In Snyders case: From what I've read on therse posts the new contract will be 17% commission for Snyders product. Lance people in our area were making 15% on their product line and we were making 19.5% on Snyders products. So in all actuality that's a raise for the Lance people and a decrease for original Snyders IO's. That's hear say from the people who have posted actual commission rates. And I know each part of the country is different from one another. It might not change here, but who knows?
Lastly, Mass will probably be one if not the last to convert due to a special circumstance. Lance has a 10year contract with a ditributor, which is only in year 2 or 3. So unless Snyders buys out the rest of the contract Mass IO's are just sitting and waiting. So keep posting with new info cause we in the northeast are reading intently.
Mass IO. I think I know who you are, but I will keep it top myself. Keep up the good work, cause I'm hearing things.....lol
you quote lance makes 15% here for the last 5 years we only started at 10% then went down to 9.5%+175 wky base

Sylance,

I was stating the commission percentage from the info Lance IO's in the northeast were telling me . Like all the posts in this forum I guess where one lives determines what commission percentage one receives. And you stated you receive a base pay of $175/week? Are you an IO? Cause I've never heard of an IO receiving a base + commission. Interesting.

I'm hoping this Snyders-Lance transition moves faster than it is cause we will be excited to have another strong product line added to the Snyders line.

Zone manager here uses abusive language and physical threats towards us,(route sale drivers). He like to tell drivers to "Shut the Fuck up"
Our Largo warehouse is the cancer of this Snyders.

Several complains have been made to corporate HR dept.and we were told "we are independent operators and nothing will be done for us".

This is the compamy that you will be buying a route from, they dont care about you!
This company has no code of ethics when it come to the people that sell there product, if not for us they would be out of business.

MATTHEW YOU WILL NOT HAVE TOP SALE EVER AGAIN BECAUSE YOU LET THIS HAPPEN..........

Publix just had a BOGO lance crackers at the end of the school year. We were told they are having three BOGO promos in the coming year. They have even said Snyders will go BOGO for the first time in company history.

Boy that wouldnt happen here but once. There are a couple old timers here that wouldnt put up with that before Matthew would be called.

That is the best advise I will give you, call Matthew directly. A couple guys from our warehouse met with him to discuss warehouse problems and about our OLD zone manager. Everything he said he would do he did. It took some time but he did keep his word and completed the list of things they thought needed to be addressed. I will hand it to him, the warehouse runs smooth now without the hour long waits to load or check out, they asked for new carts and we got them, the zone manager was booted because he was worthless and they have been trying to keep the warehouse in stock by transfering product from the other two warehouses in Atl.

If you can get around the Snyder's Matthew, he is a decent guy.

Still here.......... just reading.......i have no real info other than what I said earlier. I did sign a confidentiality agreement and I think it is just basically for people in my area not to know specifics of my route.

I have not completed my LLC and have not got as far as the financing process. I was told that if we had loans for our previous route, we would haver no problem getting financed again. Anyway the route is the collateral which is guaranteed by Sny- Lance. Payment taken right out of your check each week. Virtually no risk to the Bank. Just keep this in mind if your worried.

Thanks for the info Yaz. This whole 'fair market value' thing is bull. It's their way of not buying back at the market price, which is the average of the last 3 routes sold, which is stated in our contracts here in Mass. I'm sure when every IO bought a route they thought they were making an investment. Snyders should be buying back the routes for the average going ratio of the last 3 IO's who have sold, which is stated in our contracts here in Mass. That's fair market value. Snyders comes along and states they will pay 'fair market value'? I would like to ask all of the coporate people who thought of this 'fair market value' procedure if they bought a house, lives in it for 5 years, and decided to sell it in the open market, would they accept 'fair market value'? Basically sell it for what they bought their house for. I don't think so, and I know they would not.
The main question is still out there. What are the routes going to be sold at for potential buyers? Snyders does a great job of telling you what is going to happen and how they want everyone to follow by their rules, but never discloses any important info to IO's. So let's go from the 'fair market value' that Snyders has set. An IO bought their route for the ratio of 10:1 back in the day. Snyders 'fair market value' buys the route back for 10:1. After the routes have been restructured you think the buy in will be the ratio for 10:1? After you have worked, serviced the store, and built relationships with people in the store, Snyders comes in and buys the routes back for 'fair market value', reconstructs the routes, and will sell basically the same route back to you for a greater value of 10:1, guaranteed. How's that 'fair market value'?
Potential IO's need to know what the routes are going to be sold back at. People nedd to think, and talk to their families if this is what they want to reinvest in. Basically the way some looks at it is if you were in business with a partner (50.1% him vs 49.9% you)and you had a thriving business which over the years grew and made money and equity, then all of the sudden he said he was going to buy you out at what you paid into the business. After he reconstructs the business you can buy back in for a larger amount. Doesn't sound all too inviting.
Likelot of ols schoolers out there I'd wish Snyders would just tell me they're going to F*** me rather come up behind me and do it. Tell it like it is, "MIND OVER MATTER. We Snyders) don't mind, you don't matter."
Thanks for the info again Yaz. And if anyone else has any please keep posting cause people's future financials, and lives are counting on any info given here in this forum. Again sorry for the long post but I needed to vent.
I am not sure of your exact situation but if you grew your route in sales dollars you will be recieving an equity check for the growth....even though your ratio is 10/1 when you bought and when you sold back to SOH. At least that is how it worked here. I grew my sales and was cut an equity check for the difference. I hope this helps some of you if your wondering how it has already been done.

Mathew knows of our problem. He allowed Bob Ormsby to manipulate sales. No credit given for damage warehouse products and we had to take short coded product. Also.........

All drivers were mandated to pull several thousands of dollars of extra product and told to leave on pallets. This was done on Quartly and yrly basis to inflate sales so bonuses could be make.

We call our warehouse managers,(Eric and Dale) "The Warehouse Nazis"

Those of us that complained were not offered a new Snyders/Lance route. Not because of any route service problems, But Bob Ormsby "pay back time"

Publix managers are not happy about losing good routesalesmans, bad PR.

This is the company that you will be dealing with...... GOOD LUCK
