<quoted text> old geezer u still mad they didn't offer you a route ? It's 85,000 after expenses with the 18 - 21 percent mix .. The average us household makes around 50 grand a year , is it perfect no ! Should be 20 percent grocery stores and 25 percent on c stores but its not a bad living .
So do you have a good health care plan? Are you funding your retirement? Any major repairs the last year? How about your truck? Do you have a truck and car payment? Got a family? Are you able to put $ away for your kids education?

A decent living? What's that?$10,000 is a hell of a lot of work. What % do you work on after all is said and done? 15%? So $1,500 before all expenses sounds good but it's not. If you're a single person with few bills amd you live frugally I'll say yes. But if you're a typical American raising a family with more debt than you want then it's totally inadequate. This business started out at around 22% back in the 70's. As costs have skyrocketed the heartless, greedy corporations have whittled that down to where you are now. Flowers, Bimbo have their guys working around 12-14%. S-L is slightly higher. At 22% earning $2,200 a week you can do it in todays economy.$1,500 you can't.
You're right ... Very tough to work With S-L low %... And trust me , they could care less about the IBO,s ... Actions speak louder then words. They just nickle and diming us right out of business

I got you all beat. I tore my MCL while working one of my stores. Due to the injury, my leg formed a blood clot and am now on blood thinners. I can't have surgery due to the clot and can not walk, thus can't work. I am now being TERMINATED by Snyders-Lance because I can not run my route. They expect me to hire someone to replace myself!
In addition, my DM has been running my route and having debts on my route from $500-$3000 each week since the injury!!
This system is complete crap and is not beneficial to anyone but Snyder's-Lance. Everyone here is on different terms and virtually no one gets checks except the temps running the routes.
I'm going to lose all of my equity which is about $12000 and they will resell the route and make money off of another sucker!
I have a lawyer and hope he can help. I have had one check this entire year and now nothing. I can't get another job because of my injury. I can't believe no one has gone postal yet....lol.
Good luck to you guys. Looks like the only way to win is to cut your loses and move on. Shame because it is a fun job, just not fair to the IBO's! These f*$kers are making a killing on our blood, sweat, and tears!!!
i think you are confused because you don't have a job you own a business. If you were a plumber and got hurt you would have to hire someone to do what you do.

If S-L would give you a reach around while you are on your knees , you wouldn't have those blue balls !

I think you are confused. YOU don't own squat, S-l owns you. God forbid you ever have a serious injury because S-L will quickly humble your thoughts of ownership.

Dce is right even if you owned a pepperidge farm right or any other route if you can't run it you will have to pay some one else to do it ... This ain't obummer and the us government where hands outs is the norm , they do make short term and long term disability insurance u know .

As I read many of the comments on here with a very open mind, I tend to see valid points among some but through the rest I see a lot of finger pointing that I would say is in the wrong direction. I've been with the company for 4 years and became an IBO 2 years ago. I'm the only income that comes in to my house to support 4 kids and a wife who does not work and hasn't for 13 years to raise our kids. I've put 1 child though Catholic High School at a cost of $8600 a year. I've managed to eat good food not smack ramen and mac n cheese. Paid my $1300/month mortgage,$450/month vehicle payment all on my earnings @ S_L. I bought my territory @$8400 wk avg and built it up to over $11000 wk avg. I did over $580,000 in business last year and kept my stales just a little over $4000. I'm not saying that this is a get rich quick business but when the route is paid off and the extra $1200 month is in my pocket it will be so much better. It is an investment and yes YOU are responsible for your injuries, sickness, vacations, because you are the Owner.
I see more people complaining that act as if they are still employed by Snyders.
Could things be better like 20% commission, budget on stales, and others. But from what I see they are moving in the right direction and this will take time to make it as close to mutually satisfying as it can be.
Stay positive, build relationships with your customers, have fun, and make money.

I started back in 2003 with Lance and at the time it was not a great job. They got better and better, and especially at the end it was a GREAT job. What we have now aint perfect, but yall don't have to do this. Yall act like you're chained to S-L. The main problem is the ones of you who have turned the entire topic all 248 pages of it into a cry fest. Its great you think it sucks you're all pretty pathetic to keep putting up with it if that's how yall really feel.
Mine's not great but I'm making a living. I just don't see how 248 pages of whining about it instead of walking out can be productive for anybody. I hate some of the things they do and think I should be making more but when I get to the point that I'm like the handful that troll here every night I'll just find another damn job.
