Good feeling to know their is another wife who is pissed...lance has always been a joke to me, they have never been about their employees and you can't make an old dog remember how to lick it's nuts....the way they are forcing people to either buy your route or the position is terminated only goes to show y these big name companies will not only lose hard working employees but eventually their own asses !!!!! Five years I have watched my husband make lance money, for what??? Where's ours??

I'm pretty sure he made more than that.....All the top Brass at Lance made a killing because of special clauses in their contracts. Plus they get to keep their jobs too!! This Corporate greed amazes me.
Like I said before.... I really feel bad for the Lance people......I've been there and it sucks.

Have not heard much on the trucks and tranportation of product. At lance they spent mill,s on new trucks, and renovations on old ones to make them all the same plan on truck, that is somthing sny io,s need to think about in the near future,if you get a bunch c stores without a fitted trayed out truck, your going to lose several hours picking and looking.Lance has an endless amont of cstore products that now have to be put with cstore size snyder prducts its BS and time consuming.Lance has also informed us that if we want our shinny new trucks we will be offerd a 2nd LONE for it.On the positive for snyder io,s you may want to get one of these trucks they are great on fuel and come retrofitted,im positve there will be several parked, and ready to BUY SOON!!!!

Lance rep, I have alot of cstores on my route, and the ony way to make any money at them is to bogg them down with ships, and clips, and any thing else you got that takes up space and blocks frito,if not they will smother and block you out of the store. You have to take the good with the bad, you will have a lot of stale but double the sale.Having sny and lance together is more powerful than you think in the cstore market.

Lance was not making money. They lost 27 million last year even though they sold over 200 million more in product than Snyder's. Snyder's owes no one because they loan the bank. The family is from a long line of bankers. Snyder's financially is stable. Lance on the other hand was swimming in red and what is the best way to get back into the black? Cut overhead. What is a company's

biggest overhead? Employees.

What Lance did was ensure the Brand grows stronger by using a tried and true delivery system. Independent Owners out perform company people because we have more at stake and to earn. We also cut millions of expenses for the company.
What Lance did was probably one of the smartest options they had available.
Now if we could get Snyder's head out of its ass to help us IO's make the share holders millions. The best way to achive that is for them to stay the hell out of my way and support me when I ask for it. I will take care of the rest.
And if someone from Snyders is reading this, CHANGE OUR TERMS BACK!!!!!!!!!! You want growth or empty trucks?
So I guess by ur answer that you're a snyders io. Just because all of the snyders people just can seem to understand how lance was better off than snyders. Get over y'alls ego. Lance was not in the red. I'm a 10 year employee and I have company stock. I know were not in the red cuz I get financial statements every qtr. Lance owns every brand we have it our truck. Lance, archway, toms, cape cod, private brands, late July cookies, Brent and SAMs cookies.... Should I go on???? We own them not distribute them . 3/4 of what snyders has is distributed by y'all. So I guess that answers some of you doubts. Lance was very well of without snyders. Now I see how cheap snyders is. We moved to their warehouse. They're sloppy, unorganized and you can tell how the environment is totally cheap . Cheap handhelds, very cheap software. It sets me back about 3 hrs everyday. I hate everything about snyders. My worst nightmare.

Once again you have given valuable info on this site and not alot of opinionated b.s. Preceding 26wk avg. x multiplier after notice of termination of dist. agreement. Thanks Snyder Ho ,Boxhard

We were given our 60 day termination of distribution agreement 3 wks or so ago. It says "SOH will purchase the interest in your existing route for the fair market value as defined in your distributor agreement, less any amounts due SOH on your account, and less the outstanding amounts due on any loans secured by the route. Details on the calculation and pricing of fair mkt value will be presented to you in the near future". They are also willing to waive the transfer fee for doing this. I had heard they will buy back routes per the old contract terms of a "previous 26 week avg sales" with a 10/1 ratio or whatever ratio SOH is using for that area at the time.
Here Lance reps are selling snyders product to c-stores also. Just the conveniance store size's though.
I also have a copy of the New Distributor Agreement which is almost the same as the old except they will figure the routes cost on a 52 week avg as opposed to the 26 week avg they used before in old contract. Ratio????? who knows.
I hope this helps those who are wondering.

Wow! who stirred up the Lance nest? I feel for you guys and gals. Good luck to you. I have to say though you can make some $$ as an I/O if your in the rt. area and the sales avg. is 7- 8000/wk. and snyders change some ways as mentioned above. If not hold on and take the retirement $$ buy a cheap pop up and head to the nearest beach for some pina coladas and watch the waves roll in.:]

LOL the facts state otherwise.

In three months Lance lost 4.5 million.

$95.2 million as of December 27, 2008, to $90.7 million as of March 28, 2009

I wont disagree with how cheap Snyder's is nor will I say they are organized because they are not.

But I will say this, you cannot even compare the amount of income I made on a 8500 to 9000 route to a Lance route doing the same. You might have made 40k (the very best route) at Lance where as the avg for a typical small route IO at Snyder's is over 60K. Well at least in Atlanta. There has been years where I sold part of my route off and made a additional 35k even after they cheated me out of 5k for closing I was told I didnt have to pay. In my years with Snyders I have sold two complete routes and spit my route twice. Each time I got checks of five figures on top of what I made for the year. No one at Lance, not even the Zone Managers (I know this for a fact as one of my best buddies is a DM for Lance in Charleston SC), can say the same. I dont know one IO in Atlanta that doesnt make more than the DM's and there is a few of us that make more than the Zone Managers. Some words of wisdom, dont come over unless you have a wife/husband with insurance!!!!!!!

As for partner brands, its a small part of my business.

I think we are going to have to wait for CHANGE just like we are still waiting for the CHANGE Obama promised. I trust this company less than Obama and that is saying a mouthful out of me.

Guys seriously, we need to start watching what the Federal govt does because they have their sights set on small business and how they can better control us through regulations and restrictions. If they cut the tax cuts we get from the Bush tax cuts, we are in huge trouble. Just think if half of what you claim on your taxes is eliminated? They are planning to cut and change the rates of what we get to claim. Without these tax write offs, I shut down. It simple math. If the govt takes any more than what I pay now, I will be forced to get out because there is no way I can afford to operate with rising fuel/insurance costs and paying the IRS more.

If you guys aren't covered by spousal healthy insurance how much do you pay for plans? I have been cheeking into them for a family of 5 and from what I've seen they average from as little as 225.00 per month with a high family dedcutible of 11000 to about 950 per month for a deductible of 2500.

That doesn't seem to steep considering the fact that we pay about 120 a week now out of hubby's check.

Mr bootyman,

You're so right. You don't know how it works for lance in other parts if the country. You're obviously misinformed . Here where I'm at, we have 7 to 10,000 dollar routes. We've even done 30,000 sometimes with promotions. And sorry but we have made more than 50, 000 per year, so like I said earlier in sn other post , let go of you ego. You don't gave the facts straight. And by the way, if we sell 7 or 10,000. To the stores, that product goes straight into the shelves, we don't have backstock in our stores. Which means that it's a clean sale and they're actual clean numbers. With y'all snyders y'all have carts of backstock . So like you said, if you sell 10,000 how much of that went to backstock. It's just a way for you to make your numbers up, but they're not real numbers. We don't have to be so stresses out all the time bout all that product sitting there. In that case, i sell an avg if 7500 weekly in my route right now with no promotions, if I had backstock I could play with that number and u could sell 12,000.

And by the way, if you look it at the benefits I make more than 50k. Ive had 401k with lance since I've worked there, never put a dime in there and lance puts 2 to 3 thousand a year on the account . I have about 16,000 on the acct right now and never put a dime if my money on it. You add up 401 k , insurances , and it adds another 10,000 to ur income yearly. With snyders wut do we get, a kick in the $&@&$@&.

Snyders people, get over your damn ego, Lance was a bigger company making more money, and snyders came over and stewed shit up. The only positive thing about all this was for the big wheels in the corporate offices. They're the ones who made the money. Did I mention that your handheld software sucks? Where the he'll did snyders buy from, the dollar store???

Lance had it going on!!!! Yes, had it going on until snyders piped up in the pic.
