how about some people that have to do community service for their criminal arrests. i'm sure there are many people that are on that list. or make a list of the stores plastic bags or packages and go to the stores and say ...your names on trash. why should the home owners have to clean up someone elses trash..

One day, nobody did something that nobody else would. The next day, somebody called somebody that did nothing. The following days and weeks later, anybody could do what nobody else would and somebody would do nothing. Get it?

Rebert said. "The area looks bad but it's just plastic. It's not a hazard to anyone's health." JUST PLASTIC...NOT A HAZARD TO ANYONE'S HEALTH... Is he a moron? I guess we could quote Forest's mama here..."Stupid is as Stupid does".

Why should it be a business's responsibility to clean up if someone litters with a bag that just happens to have their name on it?

what did you expect by moving behind 3 strip malls, 5 restuarants, and a furniture store. get off your duff and pick it up yourself if your eyes hurt by looking at it. stop complaining and take action.

Think about it

The last time I looked it was against the law to litter. I have to ask, when was the last time one of our local law enforcement officers ticketed someone for throwing this stuff out? I would suggest the locals of the area clean it up and challenge our police force to help keep it that way. Throwing trash out your window of a car is the same as running a stop light. Once you hand out a few $300 fines the problem will get better and not only in that area. I live near Cordorus lake and am disgusted at the same problem of people not caring about there environment!

It was only a matter of time that someone should notice this problem. It will only be getting worse with the new development coming. shouldn't there be a mandatory levy or tax on business to clean up "Their Mess".

What has happened to the trash cans that USED to be in fast food restaurant parking lots? Most of them are all inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru line.

I have to agree with "local." If you are so tired of looking at the trash, pick it up instead of waiting for someone else to do it. It's called "civic pride."

I think people should get ticketed for throwing their cigarette butts out their car windows. That is considered littering but I see people do it every stinkin' day. When I was a teenager, I reported something like that to the police and they said the only way that something could be done about it is if I testified against that person in court or something. Like I'm going to show my face in front of a bunch of people including the offender because they threw their butt out their car window? That's just asking for assault and harassment towards me in the future.

if you want something done, you must do it yourself. don't rely on other people to do it for you.

Whaa Whaa Whaa... How exactly is it the store or shopping center supposed to prevent people from being pigs. I know maybe those elderly greeters in Wal-Mart or the teenage cart guys should carry tazers in the parking lot and shoot the people that litter. Come on, if you see trash in your yard, get off your but and pick it up. If it is such a hassle, move. The shopping center was there before you. This is like the people that live by the airport then complain the jets make noise.

The business is not one littering. If someone throws their cigarette out of their car window is it the tobacco company's responsibility to clean it up? NO!

People are just pigs and unfortunately that will never change. You can't force people to have class... it's just a rare quality that not enough people have.

If someone can take all that time for letters and phone calls,by now it would be cleaned up if you would just do it yourself.

The trash in this case consists of signs from Home Depot, Doc Klunks, Chillis and packaging material such as styrofoam, bubble wrap and plastic sheeting. Of course there are plastic bags from every store on the "golden mile".Also well represented are the fast food companies. Their trash most likely dropped by people whose parents never taught them any better.

You idiot, clean it up yourself. All the time wasted could have cleaned the area up by now. Get moving. Fines for littering are not needed. They should fine the moron for wasting tax payers money by making the PA EPA come out to investigate such a stupid issue.

"The area looks bad but it's just plastic. It's not a hazard to anyone's health." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Have you ever seen a Mallard duck with a 6-pack holder around his neck? Or some poor animal choking to death because he swallowed a plastic bag?? You've got to be kidding me, Mr. Rebert..... PLEASE tell me you're kidding me.
