What a great place to visit and to eat!! I would love to ride around the circle again, like we did in the 60's and 70's

Last night on my way into town, I passed the treat. Seeing all of the cars and people standing in line, was wonderful. You know spring is here when the treat opens.

I grew up in Hanover and remember taking trips to Tropical Treat. I have lived in Mississippi for the past 19 years but I still remember the food at Tropical Treat. Glad to see some of the old haunts are still open!

We had a bad experience at Sonic, too. The Treat only from now on! It is great to someone who stills cares about his loyal customers and passing that tradition on to his family. Best wishes for a great summer, Dan!

We've eaten at SONIC a number of times and our order or bill has never been right! TROPICAL TREAT has a great history and reputation for a reason, good food and great service!

My father-in-law has talked a lot about you used to be able drive the whole way around the treat before the back "hill' was put in. It's fun to here about how it was back in the old days. I'm 36 and that long before I was even thought of. Good to see a part of local history surviving!

If you think its great to eat there its even better working there. I'm 52 years old and my first job was at the Tropical Treat. What a great place to start working!! Mr. Myers (Ike) taught me how to make change. When I would leave work you would smell like an Italian steak sandwhich. My whole family ended working and growing up with all the Myers girls. After the place closed Mr Myers would get us all watermelon and we would spit seeds at each other. When the Treat opens you know the long awaited sping is right around the corner.(I DON'T WAIT FOR GROUND HOG DAY) Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Myers for all the memories:):):)

I truly did not believe that Sonic would have an impact on the "Treat". Every member of my family goes into withdrawal when they close for the winter. I really don't know what it is about the fat boy, they must put something in that sandwich that induces the craving. I like going out to the car shows when they have them, keep up the tradition, anyone within 50 miles should go just for the fun of it.
Also from Hanover not Waukegan Ill.

Where are the pictures of the Tropical Treat's faithful, 18 year-long employee, Gina Azzara?

I assure you we were open when the picture was taken. The newspaper did not arrive until after we had opened for the season. We were extremely busy on the first day and the sign was apparently not flipped to open.
