Their are aways accidents here and they still do nothing about it. The accidents usually involve someone going to the hospital as well. Their is poor visibility due to the houses, mailboxes and other things being so close to the street. They have talked about a stop light but the intesection is to small. How many more people need to get hurt or die to justify doing what has needed to be done for years. The road markings or speed limit obviously don't work.

People are in just to much of a hurry now a days. If people in cars would just take their time and look before they make a move maybe they would see us riding our bikes. Their are people out there on bikes that ride like they are crazy so I can't put the blame only on cars. We all share the road so it is time to slow down and think alittle. We all need to be safe out there.

According to the article: motorcycle rider was northbound on Hanover Pike (Route 194) around noon when a southbound Buick Century made a left turn onto Pleasantview Drive! They were "both" on the same road 194 - Nothing to do with poor visibility as the driver of the Buick was not entering 194 from a side street - pure neglect on the driver of the car. There are far more drivers of vehicles that have NO respect for drivers of motorcycles than there are "crazy" people on bikes! Perhaps the age of 79 plays part in "he didn't see where the motorcycle came from before striking it"!

I agree that we need to share the road, but I have to laugh since I live on RT 97 near the state line and hear then see the speed bikes fly up the road and some even pass cars and trucks while crossing over the double yellow lines at the crest of a hill or heading down the hill where the people pulling out of Georgetown can't see them doing 75 or more and almost cause other accidents. It is time we correct the states ailing intersections and roadways while putting more police on the roads. How about follow Maryland's lead and put up speed cameras and red light cameras to generate the revenue to pay for the extra police staff? Let's put "safety camera's" up at the troubled intersections to study the issue and figure a better solution. Sometimes Big Brother should be watching.
