This is good news, let's hope the care is much better than the Hanover express care. I like hearing there is a REAL doctor and x-ray tech on staff 9am-9pm. I have been disappointed with the poor quality diagnosis and less than professional standards of the express care...Welcome to South Hanover, please EARN our business.

THANK YOU!!!!

HAve had 3 family members with mis-daignosis at the "other" place- caught one PA prescribing a drug to Mom that she was ALLERGIC to.. PLEASE!
And they won't dump my buddies that have CAp Cross..
ANY competition is healthy in this town. Sick of hving to use HH facilities or drive to York.

Interesting to hear other people's experiences with Express Care. I was misdiagnosed twice by the same PA and became extremely ill, and because of the misdiagnoses, contracted pneumonia as well. My family doctor was on an extended vacation, so I was referred to Express Care. It will be nice to have a choice; and I hope as they become established their hours will be extended to later at night.

Wondering if they will truly help people. Went to the URGENT CARE clinic with my grandson on the morning before a cross country trip because he was ill. They would NOT even look at him because he was covered by access - even after I offered to pay the bill in cash so that he could be seen and on meds before our flight.(note this is after two times at the doctor previously - so it wan't that my daughter didn't try to handle it prior).

I will never EVER refer anyone to URGENT CARE - because its all a game to them!

The PA at Urgent Care gave me a script she shouldn't have given to someone with a history of GI bleeds. Anyone overseeing these PA's or are they just flying by the seat of their pants and risking our lives in the process?

It would be GREAT if this new place could open earlier. If your child has been sick all night or if you need to see a doctor before you go to work -they need to open at least at 7am. P L E A S E

Two posts mention Urgent Care, is that where you went for treatment? Urgent Care and Express Care are two different places.

Glad to see a new place to compete with HH, especially since I'll no longer go to HH when the Cap. Blue Cross gets dropped. I hope they do extremely well and get HH to get their crap together at the hospital and express care locations.

I actually went to the Facility in upper PA and it is wonderful, the staff in the front is wonderful, the Doctor knew what he was doing and actually cared. I am excited this facility will be here in Hanover!!!

I cannot speak for everyone, but I was telling the story of why URGENT CARE stinks and am looking forward to Express Care as an option!

There are no Urgent Care centers in Hanover, at which one did you have a problem?

I for one support Hanover Hospital. They made the right choice standing up to Capital and I think we are lucky to have truly independent local hospital.

Just my humble opinion.

How did they stand up to Capital?

Capital wanted to pay HH far less than market value for services and also less than they pay other hospitals. They thought they could push around the small town hospital since they were the big insurance company. They were wrong.

So what happens if a patient needs to be transported to the hospital with a life threatening illness or injury? What if the pateint only has Capital?

I am thankful for the Express Care through HH. My family has always received the best of care. Also, it's the copay of a doc's office. Don't know about everyone else, but for Urgent Care and what they bill for services....is a LOT more expensive. My family will continue to support HH and what they have done for the community. Besides, all our records are pulled over from HH. I don't like starting my chart from scratch. AND now they have lab and xray! and open at 8 am til 10 pm. What more could you want. Come on community.....support HH. You might need them in an emergency.

I am glad to support HH. I'll stick with Express Care. At least all my records can be pulled up through HH, Express Care, lab with HH and xray with HH. I'm not ready to start all over with a new place. I don't like what I'm charged when I'm seen at out of state places and since the new place is independent and has centers in out of state places, I'm sure it will be at a higher cost. The staff at Express Care at south Hanover beside of Dunkin Donuts are wonderful. Plus the coffee and donuts are a plus!

Unfortunately, if a facility does not PAR with Access, by law, you cannot pay them cash out of your own pocket and not use the Access. The facilities that PAR with Access and Gateway and the like, are under contact and if the facility is found to have seen someone with either Gateway or Access and it was not run through the insurance, that particular facility will be fined and will have their contract dropped. Normally, on the Gateway cards the PCP (primary care provider) is specified and that is whom the patient must seek care from. It also dictates what lab the patient may have blood drawn at, etc....

I understand wanting to have the youngster treated, but there are also conditions and rules that must be followed with the particular type of health insurance that you hold and it is a contract between the patient and the insurance company.

This is a good example of how important it is to make sure you understand your particular health plan and what guidelines must be followed as far as if you need emergency treatment outside of your primary care providers normal office hours, if you need laboratory testing, and what copays and deductible amounts you are responsible for. In the event of an emergency you will be prepared and able to make the best decision.
