The hanover Evening sun paper is really starting to get sneaky, They are nothing but a bunch of Liberal Cowards, They only print what they want you to read, rarely he whole story! Now that you have to comment through Facebook they review your comment & delete it if they don't agree, This defeats the whole comment purpose, I thought the comments & the Forum were to get public opinion, Not just the Hanover Evening Suns opinion! When my subscription expires I will no longer buy their rag! Oh and while i'm on the subject ,their number 1 reporter Tim Stonesifer does not write like a newspaper reporter, He writes like a Novelist! He should go write a love story & let news reporting to the pro's

I agree. I thought some of my deleted comments were quite arbitrary. Rather than deleting something, you'd think that they would at least have the intestinal fortitude state the reasons for their displeasure and let the reader decide.

Anyway, their censorship tendencies should be embarrassing for an institution that thrives on the free expression of opinions. Just what is it they are trying to protect? Or could it be it's only their opinions are deemed to be "correct"?

I don't think the Facebook switch was a local decision - I think it came down from Media News Group in Denver. The Hanover paper is basically controlled by York Newspaper Company now & I think the larger corporate structure is controlling what's deemed to be "correct". Anything resembling local control is gone - the majority of the office staff was either laid off or transferred up to York, at the insistence of Denver.

political correctness means the truth must be ignored.

I agree, Especially about that guy Tim Stonesifer, I wish he would soon figure out he's supposed to report the news instead of writing all that drama!

They wanted to censor people on the false pretense of "anonymity". That was the scapegoat. I've had things deleted as well, which is funny because it was supposed to stop me from posting my hateful diatribes anonymously on the internet.

You're absolutely correct, it should be embarrassing. Especially to the almighty Mr. Editor that has a whole blog about upholding the constitution and the belief in the first amendment. I know they probably don't miss my 50 cents a day but his shenanigans are why I no longer buy or subscribe to the Evening Sun.

Go read an article from the H.E.S paper on line, at the bottom of the article will be a comment box,If you belong to Facebook you can comment through Facebook. But the H.E.S. is monitoring them & deleting them before they get 30 mins old! Don't ask me how but everytime i write a comment it disappears!

Don't comment on Facebook. Make your comments here on Topix and reference it to the article in the HES.

It's all part of the Big Brother mentality that the entire government is the head of.

I do not blame anyone for cancelling their subscription to The Evening Sun. Eventually there will not be anyone left to deliver the paper to customers houses anyway. The workers will eventually be fed up. They withhold a lot of the drivers money and treat them like crap. They do not care about their customers or workers. Eventually they will be out of business.

Its not about Big Brother or a liberal agenda. HES is inept, lazy, and disinterested in reporting the truth. For them it is easier to simply repeat what they are told so their stories sond like stories, with the drama, instead if information. I have notified the papers editors of factual errors in storise that were repeated over and over in follow-up pieces. I asked their reporters to googl items to find out the facts themselves and was told at one oint that it wasn't their job to verify my opinion?!?! Today I read an article about contaminated water in East Berlin that talks about 10 mg/l nitrate as average. This is not average but a health based limit for nitrate in drinking water. That little distinction is significant to their article but since the boro council wants to minimize the story, they tell the reporter that 10 is the average and they are only a littl over the average and its just because of all the rain and HES prints this as if it is the truth. Don't they know that polititians lie and will spin thins to their advantage? And HES just writes it down without ever checking what they say. That is not journalism. That is the problem with HES. They are lazy.

After reading your comment, I don't think you should be criticising what is printed until you clean up your own comments. Or, do you just type too fast that your fingers get ahead of your brain?
