This guy should be kicked off the advisory board if he can by swayed by a do nothing, no nothing person like Paddock. The vast majority of the people in the area and the that this is the best location for the next casino should be the only factors considered. I am so tired of No Casino and Paddock that I could puck. If the rest of you knew her and her real reasons for her position, you would feel the same. Jealousy and hatred are not legitimate reasons to oppose something.

LeVan twice thumbed his nose at 40 percent ot the Adams county population who do not want his casino near Gettysburg. He easily could have had his casino 10 miles away but instead acted like the jerk that he is.

Could not agree more to the Stone Age comment. Just another example of the good old boy politicians trying to change things to suit themselves and their friends. Mr.Clymer is in bed with the No Casino folks and the ones who don't want any changes including financial progress. They would like to keep the status quo and watch more of the area businesses closed up just like Boyds Bears. GNMP superintendent Mr. Kirby has stated the casino would not be a problem for them , so stop hanging on to this argument. Try taking a walk down the streets of Gettysburg now and check out the lack of visitors. We need this Casino to get some life back into this town.

Last time I check 40 percent of the population is a minority. So the other 60 percent must say yes to the casino. I thought one of the principles of this country was that the majority rules. Isn't that what elections are all about? As far as Mr. LeVan is concerned lets not forget the money he has spent in this town. The Majestic Theater, and Harley Davidson which are some of the few places in town that are bring in money and jobs. Oh and lets not forget Bike Week which is a great crowd that spends a ton of money here.

seems like a real conflict of interest, if he doesn't think it belongs in Gburg just don't cast your vote for it. I wonder which one he invested his money in, say hello to your new casino

Very good move on behalf of Rep Clymer. If there is no Casino allowed in Adams County, then we will not get the casino jobs or those that will be developed by the casino, so there is a much better chance that his constituents will get more jobs.

So is NCG thumbing their nose at 60%?

If he could "easily have had his casino 10 miles away" please let me know where this already existing resort area is. You may want to familiarize yourself with the requirements for the application first. I'll await your answer as to a better location 10 miles away.

Adams County Residents the Majority by overwhelming 2/3 supports the Mason Dixon Casino Resorts. To even suggest a "buffer" to prevent gaming is illegal. Unconstitutional as well. Then Mr Clymer, who by the way has no intersts in creating jobs in our County, has no influence in lowering taxes in our County and does NOT speak for or represent our County Residents, who do you think you are? These are our potential jobs you are messing with! You support speakers yesterday, who are fearmongers spread lies and make false petitions to support their cause. One , Keith Miller, who lives in Connecticut, does not live here, pay taxes here. vote here, and has made many vulgar, insulting comments in the editorial replies as well as racial comments that were against the mayor of Vicksburg calling him a "darky"...a direct quote! You support this? Maybe the people who have voted for you need to rethink who you support! These few anti gaming radicals have made comments such as " we do not want to attract those types of people here to our community".
It is NOT about the Preservation of the History or the battlefields and putting a boundry around gettysburg is absolutely ABSRD! Perhaps where I live on Barlow greenmout and Taneytwon Rd the Plum Creek that runs through the back of my property that has the view of Round Top, where I am sure at some point many soldiers sat, rested camped, relieved themselves, washed watered their horses and cooked, camped also should be noted as a Boundry! Why not make Susan Star Paddocks property on faifield Rd where she has subdivied for developement for PROFIT, where soldiers marched to Fairfield also a boundry and force her to never be able to develop, which means other property owners also could never do so as well. That would mean that the Boyds Bear would have to permanently close, the Riders Edge, many motels the Edgwood lanes and many numerous businesses that hold interests also would have to shut down within the "boundaries". Or are you going to just target gambling...ABSURD, Unconstitutional and illegal.

Sir,
I was thinking the exact same thing. If Mr. Levan could have had a casino just 10 miles away I too would like to know where that would have been. I'm guessing though that it would no longer have been in Adams County (possibly York County). If a casino was placed in York County please let me know how that would help out the situation in Adams County. Nile, I too will await an answer from this poster.

Who wants to live in Susan's 10 mile bubble? Not me. How do you think the rest of Adams County feels about being dictated to by this woman? 10 miles covers a lot of communities that will in effect be told what businesses can and can not open in their communities. Once you start passing this kind of legislation it's a very slippery slope. How long will it be before these people decide they don't want amusement parks, or certain kinds of retailers, or certain kinds of manufacturing in their 10 mile Gettysburg bubble? This article really misses a lot of what went down yesterday too. It seems to have been sterilized. NCG basically got their assess handed to them by the committee yesterday yet this article seems to focus on a piece of legislation that has no chance of being passed. Where's the part about the state's own consultants saying the central part of the state is really the only area not facing saturation? Where's the part about committee members saying the precedent has already been set for casinos being near historical sites in Philadelphia and Valley Forge? Where's the part about NCG threatening lawsuits if things don't go their way? Nice reporting. Check the Gettysburg Times article if you really want a full report on yesterday's committee meeting. This puff piece seems to have been spoon fed right to the "reporter" by NCG.

If Levan would have built outside the 10 mile radius the legislation would have been for 20 miles instead of the 10 in this legislation.

Let's not forget either that they tried to get this buffer into law when the debate was going on about reopening the Cat 3 licensing process to award the last license and it FAILED. Nice reporting

Bucks County????? What is he getting out of this? A bl*w job from Paddock???? If you are not from Adams County, then move along. You have no stakes in this what so ever!!!!! Ask the people on unemployment, welfare line, food stamps, what they would like to see. No matter, casino, major strip mall, amusement park, they just want a job. So unless you are willing to come here and employ us all, F*ck OFF!!!!!!

Would just one person step forward who was part of this survey in favor of a casino ? I don't care one way or the other, I just want to know who the 2/3 rds are. I wasn't contacted, were you ?
