Yea, like I want to pay for a crack baby. Hey protesters ...what about the prostitution, that's ok? I agree, find something better to write about!

"Former student"--maybe you should go back to school. Maybe that's how the liberal media operates, and how you and your ilk prefer it works (that it simply not cover those news stories not in line with their own particular ideology i.e. censorship), but last time I checked it's still America, where people are guaranteed both the right to peacably assemble and the press has the freedom and right (and some would argue obligation) to cover it.

It's good to see activism like this in our town--congratulations and thanks to all those who took time out of their day to stand up for something they believe in. It's better than merely sitting at your computer and crying about unfair the world is.

Grrr! If I wasn't in Botswana right now I'd be staging a counter protest in Hanover. Absolute ignorance! I'm sorry our human evolution and biology has made controlling pregnancy very difficult. Nowadays girls are getting their periods as young as 8 and having their periods twelve times a year. This was not the norm a couple of thousand years ago! Thank the people who put artificial growth hormones and other crap in our food to make it better. Add the sexually rampant media and ignorance about sex and reproduction (ie Abstinence only education) to the equation.

And if you want to bring God into this, well sorry, abortion is practiced in all cultures and has been done since Homo sapiens first walked the Earth as mainly a survival mechanism due to the lack of resources. Today is no different, especially for low income women. If conditions are not right for a child, you shouldn't have one. Sex is not solely for procreation and you cannot stop people from having sex. Even if the woman is on birth control, she can still get pregnant because no method is 100%. Miscarriages happen more often than medically induced ones (abortion) as well as still births, and birth abnormalities. How does your great and all powerful God play into that? He puts a child's soul into an embryo and then changes his mind? BS! Also, before you attack women's reproductive rights, you should work on emptying all the orphanages first because that's where 80% of unwanted children go. Banning abortion will only make things worse and will not stop it either.

Abortion is not the only service that PP provides. They also provide sex education, contraceptives, health services and aid for women and children, and pregnancy counseling. Taking out this organization is the worst idea ever.

And before you go off on me on being liberal and attacking me with religion: There is no proof that your God exists and your religion is right, the Bible was written by men and has been disproven by science and there is no proof that it is the infallible word of God. The condemnation of abortion is solely an interpretation bc abortion isn't even mentioned. Also, neither the liberal nor conservative ideology has nothing to do with this. It's just plain biological fact that not every potential child will survive. Though our bodies are designed for optimum reproductive success, nature is cruel and not every attempt at reproduction is successful due to environmental factors.

Thanks to the Evening Sun for this article. I have to laugh when I see the comments call the protesters crazy?? Your ignorance of the greed of planned parenthood at the expense of women's health is incredible! It was founded by an evil woman, Margaret Sanger. Just read her own words. She was a racist and a eugenicists. She wanted to decrease the procreation of minorities, poor people and "disabled" people. PP carries on this mission today with most abortion clinics being located in low income and minority neighborhoods. There is an African American genocide going on in this country today - orchestrated by Planned Parenthood. I do not want my tax dollars funding this evil organization. Watch two movies to find out more - Blood Money and Maafa 21 Black Genocide in the 21st Century. When we kill the most innocent amoung us we kill our civilization. We must stop Planned Parenthood.

It's always been humorous to see how people who isolate themselves into one group or another don't see the forest for the trees. Pro-lifers can't see that women who cannot get an abortion legally will seek one out illegally, often with very bad consequences for everyone involved. Pro-choicers see nothing wrong with using abortion as a form of birth control, often denying that there are better alternatives, like the pill or, God forbid, keeping it in your pants. And both groups are always at each other's throats instead of being sensible and reasonable about it, instead of having a rational discussion.
No, you have to protest and counter-protest, often times ending up looking like crazies or idiots, or both.
That "crack baby" comment by "Chris" just proves my point... You see abortion as the last resort of only drug-addicted or the poor, denying that a well-to-do family would ever choose abortion.
Folks, what you need to do is look at the causes of unplanned pregnancies, look real deep, then attack those causes and not the effect.
Treat the cause, not the symptom.

This has been the most ridiculous story I have read this morning. From what the article is stating about the videos don't prove Planned Parenthood was assisting in sex trafficking, it was doing what it has been for every woman that goes in there requesting the services they offer. It's not showing that PP is making the girls sell themselves, and it isn't showing that PP is getting anything of value out of what these girls are being forced to do from their pimps, if you wanna criticize someone, criticize the pimps.

On another note, who are we to tell a woman that she has to have a child. I'll be the first to admit that I'm Prolife and will be for probably the rest of my life, but in the end I can't tell a woman she has to have a child and can't get an abortion, it's her body, not mine. That was the point of Roe vs. Wade, you can't tell a woman what to do with her body. What right does Joe Schmoe have to tell me what I can and can't do to myself, why is it his business? Granted I don't agree with abortions but I have no right to tell the girl next door or in the next state that she can't have one if she knows that she isn't in the position to care for a child correctly. As someone already posted, why not give the unwanted children in foster care and orphanages a home first before we start mandating that more unwanted children be born and put in the system?

bonaparte thats funny right there. I would rather my tax dollars assist in paying for abortions that might help a person start over from a mistake than pay for children who are in foster homes or orphanages, if they exist, who go through their whole lives wondering why they were not wanted by there parents, outlawing abortion is censorship. You have no right to tell me or anybdy else what I can or can not do with my body. that is the point of all of this you stop where I begin.

Yes, God is still on the throne. Amen to that! But, let us not forget that God will judge us according to His understanding not ours. I am Pro Life and I believe that God wants us to respect life and I am thankful that I was never in a position to have to make a choice about abortion. I believe for some woman the decision to abort was heart wrenching and painful and God certainly knew their heart. Yes, God will one day judge them as He will also judge our own compassion and understanding toward our brothers and sisters. Don't assume that any woman who has an abortion will automatically be casted into the fires of Hell.

What a bunch of nonsense!

And if Margaret Sanger DID create this because she was racist and wanted to decrease the procreation of minorities then her idea was a collossal FAILURE.

I have enough mental acuity to remember my NAME unlike you who can only remember where you live.

As to the racist comment, I am curious how believing women have to the right to their own bodies is racist.

oh and just an FYI.....there is only ONE race...that would be HUMAN.....

There are just some sick people out there, I generally don't comment on anything in the paper or the comments, However this issue has hit home. If a girl goes out and has sex and she thinks she is resposible enough to do so, then if she gets pregnant well then she should have the baby, go through the pain of childbirth with out any pain meds, maybe then she would think twice about having unproteced sex again. And as for the child, there are millions of people out there that can not have a baby and want them, the waiting list to adopt a newborn is so long many don't get the chance to be parents. So don't tell me they would only go to foster care. I don't agree with making abortion illegal, but there needs to be a criteria to have it done, in the case of insest or rap, yes I can see it, If there is something wrong that will cause harm the the mother then yes it should be an option, but to have it for an easy way out for these kids then no. If you make the mistake and end up pregnant, right you mistake and give that child to a couple who can't concieve.
