Weymouth in the 70s

Hello,
I am a writer who lives in the area, and I'm writing a book set in Weymouth in the 70s. My father's family (the Fagans) grew up there, with 15 kids born between 1943 and 1964. I'm wondering if anyone has any memories they can share of growing up in Weymouth anytime through the mid 80s - town customs, penny candy stores, anything. What was life like then? What might kids have done for entertainment? Thanks!
