Of course they don't, Mary. I've had the same experience. They are very snobbish. They enjoy child abuse, however, and reward it with making those who commit acts of abuse the mayor.

As a resident here I am must say we are not all to be judged alike. Some people will always be rude. I have gone out on a limb to visit & help people I don't know. I have very little material & live on "the wrong side of where the tracks used to be." I'd like to think that if it had been me that you encountered, your opinion of Marysville would be much different.

Dear Mary:
I would like to say I am sorry for the way you were treated here in Wymore. My husband and my daughter and I have lived here 5 years now. We are just now getting to know some folks. I promise you one thing if you had met me on your visit I would have treated you with respect. Again I am sorry that you were treated badly.

WOW! I've only lived here about 7 years, but to whom are referring? I know we had someone running last year, but didn't win. I didn't know we actually had someone who become mayor. That is quite something!

Well Mary you must have been in one of your moods, because Marysville people are not "RUDE". Ask any grandmother on the street and she can tell you what kid belongs to what parents and where those parents, parents live. I was born and raised there, I know it very well. If you want rude people, come to Las Vegas, they don't even smile while they take your money. Lil-jo my best friends and girl friends came from the wrong side of the tracks

Yes, I agree I have live in the Washington, Marysville area going on 26 years and the people here are just as rude as they were when I first moved here. If you don't have a name for yourself or come from money than your a nobody and yes they make a point of letting you feel that way. I apologize for all the judgemental and rude people that are in this area, however it will never change, thats the sad thing, but theres a higher power they'll have to answer to for someday, even the church goers, just because they go to church doesn't mean there not going to have something to answer for. Once again I do apologize for the people in this area

you are so right when it comes to child abuse. I've never seen county attornys & judges that pat the abusers on the back as i have in marysville.
I felt such relief knowing as i went into the courts that finally a judge that would protect children lol that was a huge mistake. the abuser in this case made the courts into a laughing joke.

As far as our community i must say we have the greatest people. even our community did not understand the courts over our case so i must say i wouldn't trade places with anyone. as far as the people here in marysville blue rapids & waterville I came in knowing absolutely no one & when my son & daughter in law were arrested this county came together to help in finding out why my grandchild had so many problems. so i must say a great big thank you to those of our community. I am a mother Grandmother & aunt & have raised 9 children two of whom i gave birth & when it comes to hurting a child i don't care if you are of my own blood. i don't care if you gave birth to my precious grand babies if you do a crime against a child i will fight to the end to see to it you do the time with the fence around you. Yes i love all my children but hurt a child i'll see to it you never do it again. the courts may not care but our community is #1 in comming together in a crises.

Many years ago, my car broke down in Waterville Kansas. I didn't know what to do. I went to the local gas station and was offered assistance and got my car towed into Marysville. The gas station attendant offered to give me a ride to my friend's house who lived several miles away.
Everyone was very helpful.

I have to admit, there are some very rude people in this town. I have worked at a few of the fast food resteraunts here in town, and some of the people that I encountered there that were from this town, well, it's aggrevating. They do have the tendency to look down their noses at you while they sit up in their nice, comfortable cars and then go home to their nice, comfortable homes, and put up with their not so comfortable children.

My mother's side of the family has always lived in this area, but I didn't actually reside in Marysville until about two years ago, we lived outside of town about six miles. I wish that we still lived there, I get tired of putting up with the snobs, and the people who don't only think, but know that they are better than you, and there's no way to change their mind.

However, on the other hand, I am also very proud of the way that this community can pull together when the need arises to help others out. There are still a lot of very respectable, nice people in this town who I think add a charm to this town that matches with it's appearance. If only you could have met those people, the people who would do anything for a newcomer, or just a passer-by.

I'm sorry that you had to run into some of those people who think that their needs and thoughts triumph over everyone else in this town. Please don't make an opinion of our town just because of a few people, come back through, and I promise you're opinion will be different the second time around.

Well spoken i agree with all you said. The only thing i will never agree with in our county is the judge telling me it is normal for a mother to leave a black & blue hand print on childs butt & believing it was from a fall from a shopping cart. I know the mother well enough to know how far she goes with her abuse & scalding a child in anger two times is always two times too many. I pray every night this judge will feel the same pain i have felt in fighting to save this child from anymore pain. I honestly believe they pulled a ticket from a cracker box when she the judge was voted in. I took this child to pawnee just so they could never say i was a crazy grandmother yet his guardian adlitem elibeth hiltgen & KVC never visit with anyone on these babies behalf. I hate to bring out the anger in my heart at these idiots in our court but i pray they go through the pain & horror this one child has lived in his short life. poor child drops a cup or misses a letter in the alphabet & he grabs his ears & runs for a corner to hide so you tell me what these people in our county are thinking saying this is all normal? I do thank God we have a higher power our judge will have to face in the end.

Having been to Washington Kansas on a few occasions, I am surprised at the insults being heap on the nice people of Washington, for me they have always been more than friendly, a view I have shared with many people extolling the virtues on your town in my travels.
I would like to think if ever I came though Washington again, I would receive the same warm welcome!!

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Virgo

Home is where your heart is, so stay there today if you can. Surround yourself with your loved ones, even if you're all slumped on the sofa in front of the TV. If you love cooking, you'll get sweet satisfaction from shutting yourself in the kitchen, and either producing a delicious meal or creating some Christmas food that can live in the freezer till you need it.
