Toski Covey outta Seymour....GREAT prices and VERY good quality photos :)
I definitely would NOT recommend Toski Covey. She schedules appointments, cancels them & keeps your retainer fee. She promises to reschedule and squeeze you in but never corresponds with you at all or responds to messages left.

. Thank you I'm glad you and your family were pleased with our work .You all were a delight to work with, and your parents are an absolutely amazing couple.

And you are correct each and every time someone decides to get on here and ATTEMPT to bash my work my booking & sales go up 20 - 35% and my income jumps way up! So those that think they are doing damage are actually doing my advertising and putting more money into my bank accounts !!!!

My daughter needs to get some pictures scheduled soon. I know there's a wide range of photographers in the area. I've heard of all the following:
Mr Foto
Graceful Images
Beyond Bounds
Dawn Derby Photography
Capture by Christie
and there's another I can't remember the name of that's in Scottsburg.
For the money, which of these is the best? I want quality but I don't want to have to mortgage the house to do it. Thanks for your help. I know it's a risk asking here because some comments get silly but I appreciate any serious help I can get.

We took our time looking around for a Photographer. Walked into luxurious studios that said 1 thing to me. THIS WILL COST A FORTUNE.
Banda Photography is down to earth and isn't pushy at all. If you want to take your pictures even in your own home he will do it.
His words to me were, these are your pictures, as long as you're happy that's all that matters.

Black and white photos are suppose to be black and with right, not gray and white. Blurring everything in a photo except for the center is not editing, but a simple phone app.

There are many people get out there an take pictures. I say do it, seek your creative side. But when you start to take people's money in exchange for professional results and the equipment in use is sub par. By sub par I don't mean a broken down, I mean low quality equipment like a cannon rebel.

No doubt a rebel can take a good picture, but a professional takes outstanding pictures.

I don't believe someone should take money from someone for a service and not proved the results.

<quoted text>. Well knowing just the kind of answer you was going to post before I ever posted the question. I made an appointment with her and went to her home to check out how she does things, and discuss having family portraits done since there are two additional members to our family since I saw her in Florida. And here is what I seen with my won eyes and discovered.

She uses a cannon 5D Mark all ( the exact camera used by Rick Banda). She uses the cannon 6D and 40D . For weddings she uses the 5D mark all.

For her editing she uses Light room 4 for everything except for cloning and clean up and for that she uses CS5. pprint six and some adobe Photoshop 10.

Among her cameras she also uses a Nikon D70 and D50 & D3 & 4

She use cannon lenses EF wide angle zoom lenses 17mm - 40mm . The EF zoom lenses 17-200mm and EF 75mm-30mm/4.56 lull ( for DSLR)

Her Nikon lenses include fisheye lenses - nikkole 10.5mm and Roikin FE8mm+c8mm/3.5 cannon

The"blurring" effects you were talking about is a vintage photography editing process that is long exposure effects used to "grip" what's in the center of the photo.

When I want information on something or someone I go get it. And as a part of my " need to know" I called multiple professional photographers in the indiana / Louisville area and the cannon rebel is intact used a lot in professional work, widely used in wedding photography.

I don't know what you have against this woman but its quite obvious you have something against her. Its none of my business what it it is, and its also obvious from the way you post you've never met the woman. So if I had to guess either you just pick people you don't know to hate on or your a jealous ex girlfriend of her husbands!

She also has a two year degree in digital photography from Santa Fe college in Gainesville, Florida.
She used to do her own dark room work and for that she has a NikonN4004S with a Samsung AF 70-210mm lenses and a 28-70 mm.

Now factor in the fact that she is new to this, you can not expect 25 year veteran experience type work, as we all know you must crawl before you can walk. The many portfolios I looked at were very good photographs. There were some I didn't care for, not due to the quality but more because they just were not my taste.

She has done a great deal of work with Shands hospital in Gainesville doing cradle shots.

So you would be well advised to do a little bit of research and learning about a subject or person before you go trashing them. Because had I based my thoughts and opinion on your little rants I would have been misjudging someone! She and her husband welcomed us into their home put on a pot of coffee and she showed me all of the things I asked for . They are delightful people who live for their grandkids, all 5 of them not just the 2 they are raising.
I do believe that was a very nice way to tell the person who clearly knows nothing to STFU. YES!

I got a pretty good laugh from your post. You did the research alright. All from the Internet. I was cracking up at all the technical BS you listed. Most professionals would have trouble listing everything you did, and this was coming form someone who just wanted a picture taken of their family. Haha.

Where you failed to research is the thread where one admitted to using a Cannon Rebel as their camera of choice.

. Wow! Lady have you lost your mind. I allow you into my home. You feed be the BS about wanting a third photo session since the birth of your twins. You lie to me and tell me your 18 year old step daughter is going into photography and that was the reason you followed me around with your little note pad writing down all of the specs and information on my cameras and editing software, all so you can post it on here in an attempt to aid me in a battle that I do not even think exist! Because the opinions of people on here do not mean squat to me.
You used me, came into my home under false pretenses and for that I find you despicable! I will not do a photo shoot for you. Nor will I be selling you that cannon rebel. Stop calling me, stop emailing me, stop sending me friends request on FB. I do not want friends like you. No one likes being used and that's exactly what you did. Even though you posted all positives I still don't appreciate being used for you to do it! Stay away from me!
