Has anyone ever been charged with this crime? Did this man leave any children behind? I realy feel bad for people who's loved ones have been killes and no one ever been held responsible.

Don't bet on it. I used to live in Hannibal and it's common knowledge that people "fend for themselves". With a corrupt local government and even more corrupt police force, what would you expect? Hannibal is a dangerous town and if you live in or around the vacinity, it's time to thing about getting away....FAR AWAY.

To Crime Capitol Hannibal-- You, sir, are a fool. How dare you accuse anyone of corruption? The statement that all must "fend for themselves" is ridiculous. These are unjustified, biased statements. And the police force is not corrupt. Yes there are complaints about the higher-ranking officials, but this is not due to corruption. Any town can be dangerous. These statements need to be halted because you are slandering a town and its inhabitants.

DAS -- Do you have your head buried in the sand? How can you not notice the steep decline in Hannibal. Each decade the drug abuse in this town increase exponentially. There are very few jobs available that pay a living wage. I don;t believe the police department is entirely corrupt, but there have been several officers over the years who think they're above the law. For you to deny any of this proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that you are completely disconnected from the common people in Hannibal. It's a damn shame too. When the town was peaking during the 70's due to the economy stimulated by the many good paying jobs provided by the Corps of Engineers, and many other contractors who constructed the Cannon Dam, it was a great place to live.

I am new here and this little town may have its drug problems, but It is deemed safe by my standards. The police come as called in no time so their job is up to par.
I like the silence I hear in the evening. I am able to sleep with my windows opened.
I came from a city with a population of 271,000 and hannibals is less than 20,000. The difference is what makes a small town living great. Every town has their problems, but Hannibal has theirs in check.
Only thing negative is not enough blacks. So if you are black move on down to Hannibal.

Declining Town-
When did I say that Hannibal was in a decline or not? I find that it is the same as it has been for some time. If anything, our culture as a whole is in a decline.
Where are your statistics? From what source are your comments from? Or are these just statements from yourself? Please share your information that no one else seems to be able to find.
Actually, I have worked with the public of Hannibal for over five years. I have spoken to many of the inhabitants and found most to be pleasant. There are some who are less desirable. But as I said previously, all towns have a mix of good and less so.

For anyone who thinks HPD is not corrupt you better wake up. I am a victim of it. Arrested for cocaine posession, because officer took a pill out of my legal prescription bottle, dripped liquid on it. said it was odd shapped and charged me with possesion and a 30 thousand dallor cash only bond. I lost my house, my truck and almost my two children, and my job. I reported it to the media in several areas. I ve been followed by police every since, asked questions in front of my children by police. Talked bad about by police in front of my new boss at work. And have been basically a prisoner in my own home for better than two years. They sit outside of bars blocking parking lots, pulling people over for no reason. And it all has to do with revenue. Ten years ago i got a dui, after the ticket was issued, which i did pass all the test, the officer told me i could go ahead and drive home. I myself witnessed a 240 pound or so cop clothes line a small woman from behind in front of police chief, when i verbally said something chief replied that officer was protacting him, they were atleast 50 feet apart and chief was doing paperwork. A friends home was being searched by police illegally untill my friend informed cops that they were on camera, then of course they left. There is just to much i could write. Keep in mind that these are just examples that i have witnessed, im sure there are much more. So if u dont think the police are not corrupt in hannibal, you better think again.
