I am looking for candidates who value the whole child, board memners who do not place value on externally created achievement measured by externally created standards and tests. For me, a good Board member would recognize that our system is based on a false assumption - that all students should comply to what grownups have ordained, thus turning off their innate motivation. If we give students a stimulating and nourishing environment, one that will will enfourage then to pursue and fulfill their individual, inner directed potential, we will produce whole, hardy, responsible adults.
There is much researc and literature that desribes such schools and their results.
