Here's the scoreboard as I see it:
1. Your SuperFerry finally gets a chance to run!...
2....WHILE conducting the EA/EIS studies that you so wanted to avoid in the first place...
3....which is now the SECOND chance you're getting to do so since you turned down the original same offer (smooth move) from the legislature quite some time ago...
4....only now you're getting some EXTRA conditions and more oversight attached...
5....PLUS you've also lost a lot of money, time, and good PR by not doing the studies in the first place...
6....AND guess what, it ain't over yet!
Enjoy your big "win."

Marcus Oshiro, he definitely has the balls, much like the governor to move up the political ladder. Unfortunately for Linda, she probably won't make it to congress. Her time is up!

Oh well, she could always sell cars at Cutter right? ;-)

One of the sadder things is that the taxpayers of Hawaii just ended up spending almost $20,000 for the same decision that could have been made during the regular legislative session if Uncle Joe hadn't let the bill die in committee.

The good thing that happened is that there is now enough fuel captured in the public record to really have a nice, juicy investigation.

I wouldn't be so sure Har-ley...You might be calling her Senator Lingle some time down the road, and have to eat your words...You got a lot of anger and pent up resentment toward the Gov huh?

Please Kaleo, I don't eat "puhi." LOL It is what it is! The governor got herself in to this mess and needed a bail out. But she will soon see that a bail out will cost her. The legislature will see to it!

Har Har Harley you were the one saying the SF would never be able to live with all the RESTRICTIONS that your legislature was going to put on them. Where are they? FREE PASS IS ALL I READ IN THAT BILL.
You keep saying Lingle - Lingle what? What about Hanabusa? Who is she kissing up to giving the FREE PASS?? WHO'S GOING TO INVESTIGATE THAT? HOW COME YOU'RE NOT ASKING THE REAL QUESTIONS - WHY A FREE PASS TO SUPER FERRY?

From Advertiser re. Blackmail case:

Gov. Linda Lingle's then-chief of staff promised a woman admission to a Hawai'i nursing school, money and other favors in exchange for a weekend with him and members of a trade delegation to the Philippines in January 2006, according to testimony in U.S. district court

INVESTIGATION: Who made all those legislatures vote a FREE PASS to SF?
Why did those legislators say one thing and then do another? Why didn't those legislators vote down the earlier bills calling for an EAS?
What did those legislators mean when the said they would listen to protestors while they already had the FREE PASS bill written - and then wouldn't change it.
How many protestors did they need to hear from before they would change their votes?
What polls did they take as to who favors what?
When did they determine that SF is a PUBLIC NECESSITY?
ETC.

Yeah, again! Can you go "read" the Bill Learden. That should help you see things more clearly. We can at least "HOPE" that it will!

Can someone help him with this? PLEASE!!! ;-)

So what else is new in the Republican party. Just add it to all the other scandals starting from George Dubya down. How the mighty have fallen. It was only a matter of time before our dear ole governor would get herself caught up in a mess. Heck, she did the same thing as Mayor of Maui with the Makawao Highlands project! And look at her administration. Yes, how the mighty continues to fall.

Oh well, it's just politics right? ;-)

super ferry.just a bunch of additional pollution to the marine life! it clearly shows here that many people (mainly the foreigners) don't care about hawaii's environment. all they care about is themselves and how to get from island to island..bunch of crap..not thinking about the many consequences that'll happen because of just riding the "super ferry". money speaks A LOT today..obviously! Hawaiians today are mainly concerned about their land and ocean, and all these outsiders just think about are money and businesses and whatever else pollution their tiny brains can think of.

..get a culture and you'll see why "Super Ferry" is really a big issue to us..
