I don't watch the show ANYWAY!!!
Attitudes like that keep South Carolina trailing behind all the other states.

Amy, a large portion of the crew (incl the 100s of extras) are local. Many of them have businesses and other jobs, but they work on the set to gain extra income and to contribute to something big. I met a makeup artist who has worked all over the country, but she lives in Mt. Pleasant. The casting director is local also. Feeding the cast is from local resources. The lighting rental is local; local trucks also. Just because you aren't directly affected by something doesn't mean it's not significant.

The supposed purpose for Gov. Sanford's reduction of the film industry benefits is to encourae usage of local businesses. I think they're doing a good job based on the less than modest support for film and television productions in SC.

Having a nationally televised show filmed on location in Charleston is a fabulous representation of what SC has to offer. Why let a gem slip away?

I LOVE THE SHOW!! Charleston would be pretty dumb to stop them from filming there. My husband is based at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC (about 2 hours from Charleston) and we've only visited Charleston once in 4 years, but this show has given me more interest to visit again. And i'm sure others feel the same, and that reason alone should keep the filming going. BTW- where does filming take place? Like scenes on the Base...sorry...Post...where are they filmed?

This show brings in millions of dollars to local economies. If you are not hired maybe there is a reason on your part. Get some useful skills and try again. That said, this show brings in millions of dollars to City of Charleston and local businesses. If you are too backward and ignorant to understand that or get involved you deserve your lot.
This is a Disney Show for Chriss-sakes!!!

Amy, I couldn't agree more with your post! Kudos to you from someone who has actually worked on the set quite a few times. They make so much money and all they want is more, more, more! Thieves. Selfish, greedy, mo-fo's!!!!

Well, you obviously don't know much about the film industry. Unless it is a huge blockbuster hit in theaters, which obviously TV shows are not, they do not make that much money.Do you have ANY idea what-so-ever how much it cost to create these shows? If you did you would not say what you said.
I hope it comes to NC! They so use locals and spend lots on money while they are filming in locations

Listen you guys any economy is better than no economy right. Just think of the money that is being spent by this show being there and with things like they are I would think ya'll would be grateful for that. Your business and commuties are reaping the harvest of this Show being there and I would think you could see that. If your not making any money it's because you either don't have a business or a job in this community. Plus I love this show and I would hate to see it go.
