Jul 11, 2013 Full story: FITSNews 20

The schism in the Episcopal Church got personal recently when the rump diocese of South Carolina - a.k.a. those Episcopalians who chose to stay with the national church - released a list of their enemies.

Obviously, "hate lists" are part of TEC's inclusive approach to growing their church. TEC's leadership obviously hates those who believe historic Episcopal teaching - to the point of driving them out and jumping on their assets like a chicken on a June bug.
Yet, all the while the accuse the faithful of hate.
How far from the early Christians who were identify with the phrase, "See how they love one another."

They said that they had "abandoned the church", not that they should be burnt at the stake as heretics, not seeing as much of a "hate-list" here as I can imagine. They are leaving the national church in a snit over yet one more change in the Church's beliefs. "Abandoning the church" seems to about cover that, especially if you are on the prevailing side of the change.

But you see in double-standards; the list was actually called a "Notice of Restriction," an odd choice of titles from TEC, a church that claims to be all inclusive!

It's what tends to happen when Christians try to sort their issues out. Breaking up is hard to do. At least they aren't burning the heretics at the stake any more.

Seems to me that TEC is "Mostly Inclusive", like a broad gate, and their "Notice of Restriction" merely refers to those choosing to pass through the narrow gate.

Selective inclusion, to go with TEC's selective outrage.

No, it's what happens when TEC's so-called all-inclusive Christianity is exposed for what it isn't.

Christian divorces such as these have never been civil, dear. Break-ups like this used to lead to our Christian ancestors killing one another. If all the ex's are getting here is a semi-civil, semi-rude reference in a news letter, they should be thankful, custody fights over which new splinters get God have frequently proved fatal.

It has everything to do with the divorce pumpkin. Since, in Christian theory anyways, this shouldn't even be happening in the first place, there are no rules that say you that you have to be all that Christian about the split-up, your ex's or the property settlement when you divvy up the flock and squabble over the sheep pens. Tell us, what are the dissenters saying about those they are dissenting against? I'll bet it's just as Christlike.

The Episcopalians are divorcing amongst themselves dear, their ex's, their enemies. As long as nobody's torching heretics, nothing really to see here.

No dear, the divorce among the Episcopalians is what you are calling her pogrom. If that's what you want to call it, who am I to stop you from sounding silly?

Your response to this story is a response filled with the very hate that you accuse others of having.

The Episcopal Church has every right to publish the names of the priests that have turned their backs on the Order and hierarchy that produced their sacerdotal authority in the first place.

If they want to be priests, let them align with another organization. They can always go and ask for entry into the Roman Church. No one is denying their ordination as priests. If they align with the RCC, they will have to pass muster in the hierarchy of the RCC.

But, TEC has every right to defrock or detach them from any right to conduct themselves as priests; their priesthood being a function of the Order and hierarchy of TEC.

As for their june-bug "assets," If you are talking about the assets of the Church, those did not ever belong to the priest. If you are talking about the earned pension of the priest, that pension was earned as an affiliate with TEC. For TEC to withhold such earned benefits is a serious act for which there must be just legal cause. Such a withholding would be legally settled either going into or coming out of Court and has nothing to do with hate.

I remember attending Diocesan meetings when these pension issues were considered. Everybody present knew that the priest who turned against his own Order and hierarchy would be jeopardizing his or her access to that pension.

As silly as an all-inclusive "Notice of Restriction"?

Both sides have repeatedly demonstrated their capacity for the silly since they started divorcing each other.
