Why do we still have such silly laws? Let people do what they want to with their money. If it doesn't hurt anyone else, who cares?

Because the government doesn't get a cut. If they taxed it then they wouldn't care.

Sounds about as well organized as the SC convenience store lottery. What's wrong is that one is supposed to be gambling and the other not. Something is wrong with that one. Leave em' alone.

Think about the taxpayer money -- OUR money -- that went into investigating, arresting, and prosecuting these people who probably are completely harmless. That's the real crime.

Since dice games are not allowed under this law, does that mean I cannot let the grandchildren play UNO or Monopoly?

Seriously, Charleston, like the rest of the country should spend their police manhours on more important issues.

I agree. And they wasted 10 MONTHS investigating it?!?!?!?!?!

The REAL reason is the "T" word. "Taxes." The State Department of Revenue wasn't getting their share.

There is no reason, other than religious ones, to forbid gambling. Any State that has a "Lottery" and forbids other gambling is a state full of hypocrites. And that sure rings true in the case of this archaic state.
