Teen Battles Back Against Bullying
A teenager is taking his fight to city hall after he says his request to start a gay straight alliance at his school was denied.

One couragous kid. Hopefully he sparks a flood of such support groups accross the nation and gives others the courage to follow suit. Goes to show - ONE can make a difference.
The applicable law here is the federal Equal Access Act.
Ironically, it is the homophobes who worked to enact this law to allow "bible clubs" in public schools. In so doing, they enabled GSA's to be formed because of the "EQUAL" in the text of the act. A delicious example of the "law of unintended consequences".
The school CANNOT legally ban a GSA. There is ample case law on this.
And at this school, and probably most others, there will be more kids in the GSA tahn in any bible club that may be formed.
