Inouye, King of Earmarks

At a time of unprecedented budget deficits, some lawmakers shirk responsibility when asked about the pork they send back home.

The 84-year-old, eight-term Democratic senator and chairman of the powerful Appropriations Committee is boasting back home that he's pulled in more money for pet projects than anyone on Capitol Hill.

....Inouye strongly defended the projects, for things like roads and bridges, saying they were important to his state....

Now we know why Hawaii's roads and bridges are in such good shape!!!
