I remember when tuition was only $116.25 per semester at UH Manoa. Why it was less than my monthly rent. No out-of-state tuition brought lots of mainland haoles, sun bums, party people, and hippies hee. You could see them all at the Diamond Head Sunrise Festivals every New Year's Day. Now it's a rich kid's school and more so with the difficulties getting loans or affording a college education. Blame your parents.

Intellectual students: Attend an affordable undergrad college THEN go for broke at a top-notch grad school. That's the way to do it. Nobody will give a hoot where you attended your undergrad when you have your grad degree. No sense putting yourself $100k in debt with only a bachelors degree as they are a dime a dozen these days.

Write your congressmen about the lack of student loans. Loans are virtually nonexistent due to the current credit crunch. Get our government off their butts and get them to do something.

I had a 10,000 dollar student loan at UH this semester, it suddenly disappeared. Now, will my next 10,000 that I need for my transition to grad school "disappear also? By the way, I use private lenders, not the government, so UH should keept their hands off other people's money. As for wether or not a graduate school cares about your BA; well, several top, private grad schools are not enthusiastic when your degree's from here. By the way, my Bachelor's final price tag is around 65,000.00 dollars, over 5 years, I am 15grand in debt.
