Hamburger - NONE of my info is wrong. All was pulled from the archives of the Daily Press and Virginian Pilot.

Steelworka - you are correct, LEOs are human and so are we. All of us make mistakes...but, if you compare law enforcement officers to any other group of working professionals law enforcement officers are the most criminal, period.

Law enforcement officers collectively have a higher crime rate when compared to firemen, teachers, lawyers, elected officials, car salesmen, small business owners, military, etc.

I know there are still a few good men out there for the right reasons but most of the younger guys are gang members wearing a shiny badge.

Actually, I knew most of these officers as I have been in law enforcement for quite a while now... and most of these arrested individuals are the younger officers you speak of. Nor have all of them been convicted of the alleged crimes. The arrests should be proof that crime will not be tolerated in our local police departments and should in an indirect way instill the trust of the public, letting them know that our departments Internal Affairs is in fact weeding out bad seeds. It is extremely shameful what these officers have done (IF they in fact have done them) and they should be gone. But it is unfair to say that most young officers are gang members with a badge because thousands upon thousands of 21 year olds are hired yearly and go on to lead very productive careers. I know that tighter hiring processes need to be developed for this reason, but the public and the courts say that it isn't fair to black applicants to use certain indicators in the selection process (ie: Chesapeake Police Math Test that was a 5th grade level test). As long as we must loosen our selection process, you will continue to see problems within the departments. Thats not to say that black officers will commit the crimes, obviously that isn't the case.
