That baby is so cute. More than 10 years is warranted for killing your baby.

Yes, what about the "community leaders"? Where is the group hugs for the poor baby? This is a case that cries out for justice.

Where are the good Reverends Al and Jeremiah?

Oh, wait, I already know what they'll say: it's the white devil's fault.

Someone will take care of her in prison.

So, so very sad. The community should be absolutely outraged by the mother's light sentence, but the lack of response surprises me none.
As a former employee of IOW County, I recognize that community as completely and utterly uninvolved and uninterested in the lives of its youth. No prevention programs, no viable intervention programs, no job skills training...nothing for the youth in that community. And as one writer mentioned, the low sentence and lack of community response are direct reflections of the minimal value placed on the children there, by both black and white citizens.
Property values may continue to increase in that area, but that community is no different from any other, contrary to what the powers that be may think. There are still crack houses, meth labs, poverty, crime, perversity, alcoholism, corruption and general depravity, just like anywhere else. This child's death, the light sentence, and lack of community response are merely reflections of that. Very, very sad....

During a 2 1/2 year investigation of the death of her daughter, this .... thing is allowed to have two more children???!!! She needs a court-ordered spaying while in prison.

A section 8 mother, she deliberately murders the child in order to attract attention to herself; tries to murder her second child; and has a third in reserve to kill on a slow weekend. The prosecutor charges the lowest possible charge you can for murder and the judge will probably let her walk. Not one community leader protests. Well, we now lnow what the value of a Black child is in the Black community.
Why don't you get off your racial high-horse!! Killing one's kids is not race-specific. You have a short memory, or maybe you just remember what you WANT to.

Where's HG Robinson? Are you going to tell us that it was society's fault once again. No? Maybe it was the gun lobby? Please tell us who is to blame.

What is our world coming too? How can you lose a child in such a horrible way and then go thru another 9 months just to duplicate the scenerio again. The fact that she entered the Alford Plea should tell us that the cops have enough to put doubt into a jurors mind, but that should also tell us that this woman needs some psychiatric help, God willing she will get it before they unleash her onto our community again. I pray she gets the maximum sentence.

Why do we try and fool ourselves into thinking that we are so much better than others, when we all are guilty of something. It may not be murder but it could be a heart full of hatred. I know you have heard the one about, he that is without sin let him throw the first stone. If you have not kept all of the 10 commandments then you are guilty of something. and may I also add this food for thought, "There is no man so good, who, were he to submit all his thoughts and actions to the laws, would not deserve hanging 10 times in his life." Check out your heart, what's in it?

Shame on you "Frank Jailer"!! The life of the child was important but with God the life of the mother is as well. We are "ALL" precious in His sight. Your statement regarding the mother killing herself, as well as most of the postings on this news article was and is DEPLORABLE. I assume you think that you are not or never will be in need of mercy. Prayer for all involved is required and I request prayer by all who believe that God is "still" in control. Be Blessed!!

Wow, that was deep. If I have an attitude with someone, that's equivalent to suffocating a baby. Might want to check your own moral compass.

Second of all, the New Testament isn't all about forgiveness and mercy, or haven't you heard this one:

Romans 13:1,4 (snipped for brevity)
The authorities that exist have been established by God...But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

Or maybe this one:

Revelation 6:10
They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"

Sounds like it's normal for Christians to call for Justice.

Our government bearing the sword and being God's agent of wrath sounds like the appropriate response in this situation. Save your out-of-context passages for someone more ignorant.

It warms my heart to see that their are still those that believe that God is in control and that all things have a purpose and come to past for all of us,there is a season for everything. If you read your scripture Jesus said that the fathers and mothers will put to death the children, as the children the parents. It has been spoken and it will be done. We all need to pray for each other because we will be judged by the words that we speak!

If god's in control, he probably needs to let someone else drive.
