I see no difference between Metrotra and the policies stated by Obama.

I got the "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" from the Bible. "...They laid it at the apostlesí feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need..." Acts 4:34-37. Look it up.

Isn't the US Constitution a contract between the people & the government? The 16th Amendment established the federal income tax. I hope you don't consider the Constitution to be a Communist document.

II Thessalonians 3:8 "Nor did we eat anyon'e food without paying for it and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you."

II Thessalonians "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: in a man will not work, he shall not eat."

The scripture reference that you quote in your message is in regard to the first church established in Jerusalem after Christ's resurection. The belivers brought all things that they had to support one another because they were building the church which required them to be there day and night. They did take care of each other but not in the way you suggest. They were not quiting their jobs to go to school or not graduating from high school and being to lazy to persue higher education. They worked to build the church. Why should the rich pay extra taxes in order to fund the life of someone who has no desire to work or better themselves?

The difference is that they gave to the apostles willingly of their own free will out of love. Under socialism, one is not given the choice to give or not to give. The brute force power of the state enforces the giving.

No, but a progressive tax system plants the seed in that direction.

You may be right, Mike. That's why the fair tax or flat tax proposals should be given consideration.

I personally think the fair tax just makes sense and would work - which is why our career politicians will reject it. They would loose their ability to buy their votes through special interest tax breaks, or funding special interest programs.

I'm afraid the only way we are going to get congress and the federal government back under control, is to cut off the flow of money pouring into DC.

If you can believe it, there are people here in Florida who have no idea what the Communist Mantra is. They are strong Obama supporters.
