if he had stayed with his nieces, as babysitters are supposed to do, this probably would not have happened.

Please "josiah P" babysitters also reward good behavior. In this case the parents had arrived back home. He was giving them a treat for being good while the were out. Trust me, thier has been so much pain for the mom. please do not add to it. God Bless you.

thanks very much for clarifying that. as per usual, the DP is somewhat remiss in giving the whole story.

So this is primarily a Police problem? I would venture to guess that SEVERAL citizens saw something and chose to NOT come forward. Maybe the NNPD should just give up and pull ALL of their resources north of Mercury. How much will they be missed then??

The shootings and deaths will continue as long as the thugs are protected by everyone. Don't cry about the deaths unless you and your community steps up and starts turning in the thugs.

Don't blame the police for not catching the monsters who commit these crimes. They need the help of the community as well. Take back your neighborhood. Become pro-active with the police department. Set up a neighborhood crime watch in your area. They cant do it alone, they need information from citizens to catch these people. The thugs will continue to control your neighborhood until you band together and let them know that you've had enough

You two are truly a pair of April Fools. But justice will eventually be served for the killer of that young man, Michael Zylberberg Jr...and that is no joke.
We haven't seen you here for awhile Freejet. Did they temporarily suspend your computer privileges at the City Farm?

And in the same breath she blames the community for not speaking up.
Sorry for your loss, but as another posted, be pro-active.
I would, but I'm just a little white girl.

How the heck can the police help you if no one will talk???? What are these kids' parents doing to keep guns away from their children? Why don't you establish a neighborhood watch? I'm very sorry for your loss, but everyone needs to stop wringing his hands and work on a solution......together.

"the police aren't doing enough" Sorry for your family's loss, but it's not the fault of the police. I wouldn't be a police officer in NN for all the $$ in the stimulus bill. They are hampered by a community that takes no responsibility for its own woes. You blame them for profiling if they question blacks, then complain if they aren't out asking questions. Claim that they any activity they do is racially motivated. You can't have it both ways, trust & work with law enforcement to clean up your community. Parades won't keep the youth in your community from dying, not tolerating the gang activity, inform, observe & live honest decent lives. And no I'm not related to any police officers. But it's one of the most maligned careers out there where responsibility for a community's problems are blamed on .. and the teachers come in second, they are the ones charged with teaching your children responsibility, focus, discipline.

Really. You wouldn't be a police officer in NN for all the money in the stimulus bill? You do realize that is over 700 billion dollars.

Blame the Police?
I bet there were at least 10 witnesses on that corner that nite.
Blame the Police?
Why would you blame the Police because people won't talk.
I don't talk because I don't want to end up dead. Ok, blame the Police! HA!

Let him rest in peace. We all know there is a bullet waiting for us when we do what we do in the hood.
