most students don't need to like the new principal. He's not there to win a popularity contest with teenagers. This school was heading down a dangerous path. Hopefully, it is being turned around.

I'll enroll my kids in Tabb H.S. when I want them to learn how to buy drugs or Grafton H.S. when I want them to have administrators who are uncaring and turn their backs.

I have lived in Hampton all my life since the mid 50s. Elementary schools popped up everywhere in the 60s, middle schools in the latter 60s-70s.
As soon as crosstown busing begun in the very early 70s, people took their white kids out and/or moved, then dominos fell.

Today, HCS and the City are on life support like all minority cities. It's not difficult to figure out.

exactly! Even whites in Hampton, old friend I had there, try to pull that white guilt trip on me. I love Grafton and fewer minorities.
