He's not trying to make a name for himself. He just thinks the card makes sense because it allows veterans to quickly prove their status to qualify for business discounts and government services.Full Story

This just seems to be another scam to get data from vets so they can send out garbage mail to vets. Vets can go on line to find out what their benefits are. Vets can call a VA hospital to find out more information so why don't they. I don't trust the govt to give out this information about vets. I am sure they will find a way to get information from the DMV for 'statical' purposes which have nothing to do with a vets discounts.
You can also go on line to find out what discounts are offered to vets. Why this push from the DMV has me suspicious?

I don't want my veterans status given to DMV. I don't trust what they will do with it and there seems to be some scam here to put this information into a data base for 'voting purposes'. I am sure DMV has other plans for this info. Don't give me this crap about discounts. Most of the discounts are for active and retired military personnel. Just ask Lowes, that is how they are justifying their discounts.

I wouldn't suggest getting "Military" on your driver's license. Especially if you are a worldly traveler.

give states fed VA info, whatever for ?
if you're a vet, sign up for vet healthcare at a VA clinic or hospital and you get an ID. If you're retired or service disabled military then get your military base ID from the DOD.
