Liger knows
gavin, it depends on the type and how much psilocybin is in it.
Eating the wrong kind of mushroom CAN KILL you, it can poison you, it can cause liver failure, and cause all kinds of problems, so if you don't know what you're doing, DON'T JUST GO DO IT!!!!
I know a guy who used to collect a lot of them stick them in panty hose, tie it off and steep it. He would mix it with grape kool aid with extra sugar. He swore that did the samething, and you couldn't taste it. I went with him and could identify the kind that he was looking for, but it's not my bag, and now I'm too old.(that was back in the 70s)
To the vomit comment, probably because from what I understand they taste absolutely horrible, but I've never heard of anyone vomiting from the "right kind." If you're vomiting, you are poisoned and probably go to the emergency room.
Or just don't do it, which is probably the safest route.

Eating random mushrooms growing on cow shit can be very dangerous. People who hunt mushrooms often have years of experience before actually consuming them. The real danger this dumbass faced was that he had no idea what he was eating. Mushrooms are actually safer than LSD and should not even be remotely compared to acid. Acid has a completely different chemical structure and is a synthetic by-product of ergot. I say "synthetic" because it requires a trained chemist's intervention to isolate it. I love reading these post and seeing people comment on things they will never know or even begin to understand. I really thought that after the invention of the internet, people would really spend more time studying and not passing limited, straw picked judgements. As I said, this kid's mistake is that he didn't know what kind of mushroom he was really eating and its actually a good thing he was stopped because what he was doing was potentially very dangerous to his health. Even a veteran mycologist has been in error and died at least once before. "All mushrooms are edible at least once" - Croatin Moral.

I sure wouldn't want that teen driving or even walking around with that in his system. Might see the car ahead as an elephant, the road ahead as a river, the pedestrian ahead as a cartoon character. You don't puke first, youre a dumbass
