I have known many people who have had to have their children evaluated by Dr. Campagna through the court system. I have read his reports. I find his communications to reveal a tendency towards misogyny and have heard some of the children express that he bullied them and bad mouthed their mothers. I would recommend that people avoid using his services if at all possible.

I agree with post listed above. William Campagna PhD was disrespectful, and not forthright in his assessment of my child. He misinformed facts, and clearly lacks competence with his judgment and clinical skills.

I have been court ordered to be evaluated with child. Thus far the Dr. has pursued me as if he were my ex and is after blood. He is being paid to evaluate not leave snooty messages and call me day in and day out. It is apparent in his messages that he considers himself to be "above" me and has already formed an uneducated opinion against me. I find him entirely unprofessional, transparent and a tart who happily takes money in agreement to use his psychological career to enable bad people to get a report that is full of lies and pleasing to them. This is a sad abuse of one's power. I find this person very sad and disturbing.

A person who is licensed to have input on another's mental stability and uses that power to hurt someone is lower than pond scum and should be brought up on charges and have their social services creds taken away and never allowed to work with people again. They should be thrown to the lions. I am sure that if someone does this once to a person, they get such a thrill and feeling of empowerment, they will continue this disturbing behavior until they are caught, and they do get caught. The people who claim to be helping others are the ones who need the most help.

Dr Campagna,

You have an obligation to these children you see and not to the parents or your employer. Their lives are in your hands and I think you need a reminder of that....

Former 'Amazing Race' contestant sues psychologist following young son's death
Feb. 19, 2013, 3:56 PM EST
By MATTHEW BARAKAT , Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP)-- The mother of a 15-month-old boy who died on a court-ordered visit to his father filed a wrongful-death lawsuit Tuesday against the psychologist who sanctioned the visitation.

Hera McLeod of Gaithersburg, Md., filed the $20 million suit in Fairfax County against Ashburn Psychological Services and psychologist Margaret Wong, alleging professional negligence resulting in the wrongful death of her son, Prince McLeod Rams.

McLeod said at a news conference announcing the suit that Wong's report was instrumental in a judge's decision to grant unsupervised visitation of Prince to his father, Joaquin Rams.

Prince died in October, on the fourth unsupervised visit, and last month, Joaquin Rams was charged with murder by prosecutors in Prince William County. Authorities say he drowned the boy and had taken out life insurance policies on his son totaling more than $500,000.

Authorities say that Prince's drowning has prompted a closer look at two other deaths of people close to Rams: the still-unsolved shooting of his ex-girlfriend Shawn K. Mason in 2003 and the 2008 death of Joaquin Rams' mother, which was classified a suicide.

McLeod objected to turning her son over for unsupervised visitation on concerns that he would be in danger. She says the psychologist ignored clear warning signs that the father was dangerous, including testimony at the custody hearings that Manassas police considered Rams a suspect in Mason's death.

McLeod, a former contestant on the CBS reality show "The Amazing Race," has been vocal in efforts to hold accountable those who she believes failed to protect her son when they had the opportunity, including the judge who granted the visitation. She writes a blog, Cappuccino Queen, that documents her case and her son's short life.

Rams, before he was arrested, responded with a blog of his own, King Latte, in which he leveled his own accusations against McLeod.

McLeod's lawsuit also alleges that Wong ignored a previous psychological examination of Rams that included allegations that he was physically abusive, had pulled a gun on a former girlfriend and had engaged in sexually aberrant behavior.

"I believe this doctor's negligence led to my son's murder," McLeod said, saying it was hard more her to imagine a person more seriously "disordered" than her former fiance.

McLeod acknowledged Rams had a gift for deceiving people, including herself, at least for the first few months of their relationship. But she said that does not excuse Wong from missing obvious signs that Prince would be in danger if Rams were given unsupervised visits.

"The difference is, I'm not a psychologist," McLeod said.

The psychology practice declined comment Tuesday.

The judge in Montgomery County, Md., who heard the custody dispute ordered Rams to get a mental evaluation, but allowed Rams to pick the psychologist. Rams was also the one who paid for the evaluation.

McLeod's attorney, Patrick Regan, said Wong had a duty to prepare a report that would serve the best interests of the child, rather than merely benefiting the person who paid for the evaluation.

Regan said there is a direct link between the faulty psychological report and the judge's decision to grant unsupervised visitation, which resulted in Prince's death.

"If it had been a supervised visitation, it never would have happened," Regan said.

Rams is now in custody pending a formal indictment for Prince's killing.

These comments are from an angry bunch of women who were not able to remove their childrens' fathers' from their lives. Sorry ladies, but I had Dr. Campagna do our family's evaluation and despite my ex nor I getting what we wanted, overall he was fair. My son was able to spend a good amount of time with me (40%/60%) and now that he is 18, he is a smart, funny, kind, well-adjusted young man who will begin his Freshman year at an Ivy-League school this September. The reason he has done so well is because I fought hard and spent way too much money against a system that hates fathers to be a part of his life. Just because you hate the man, don't spill your hate onto your children. They need both parents. Sorry but it's true and most of you are melodramatic, lying, perpetual victims. Go to Hell.

Dr. Campagna was hired by my x to do an evaluation for of course custody purposes. He is difficult to read and tended to downplay what my family had gone through at the hands of my x spouse. He does not like “empowered” children or children that voice their genuine feelings about their family life. He spent very little time with my child who is estranged from their parent and even when this child requested to speak to him again it never happened.
His final report was riddled with inaccurate information, marriage dates, whether the child was a boy or a girl, etc. It was poorly written and the custody recommendation was confusing. HOWEVER I had enough documentation on what my family had been through with a dairy, photos, and testimony from other people that witnessed this poor behavior that could not be ignored. In the end although Dr. Campagna has a reputation for 50/50 custody he could not recommend it in mine. He did note the disturbing behavior of my X spouse, witnessed it himself, and found it in the MMPI Testing. His report was carefully worded not to incite my X spouse but when dealing with the X one must be careful.
In the end, Dr. Campagna did not write a biased report based on who hired him. However if you expect anything less than a 50/50 custody arrangement you have better have a darned good reason and have plenty of evidence to back it up.

For You are all wrong. It is pretty terrible that you would come on here to defend someone and in turn write nasty things about people you do not know. Perhaps in your case 50/50 custody was a good and viable arrangement however for some children it is not based on many factors.

To condemn people for trying to do what they think is best for their children is ignorant at best. Not every person is a liar or belongs in hell.

You would be better served defending someone in a fair and honest manner. Your credibility as a character witness gets lost with your baseless judgments and your inability to control yourself.

When I first read these comments, I became very nervous over the fate of my little grandson.

My ex son in law is a drug addict and an alcoholic, and can be very aggressive. He is also a professional, and people can be deceived. The Court had ordered their own expert to review my daughter's custody battle, and it came back that he couldn't see the baby unsupervised, but allowed his very dysfunctional mother to supervise. My son in law then hired Dr. Campagna to paint him in a positive light, and this man although at first tried to help him, came to the conclusion that he was unfit to see the baby unsupervised, and even concluded that his mother and father shouldn't supervise their son.

Dr. Campagna was tough, but he listened, and did what was best for an innocent child.
