Beverly Hollingworth has run for election for something every year for the last two+ decades except 2004. She ran unsuccessfully for Governor of NH in 2002 on a platform favoring a state income tax for a state that has never had a broad based tax. She was an ineffective Executive Councilor, losing to Chris Sununu in a landslide in 2010. Now she is at it again - running against Nancy Stiles who has done an excellent job as State Senator for the last two years and deserves another term. The question Ms. Hollingworth should answer - why is she allowed to lease numerous spaces on Hampton Beach for relatives, guests and politicial contributors while beachgoers and tourists are being towed by local towing companies? Are these spaces intended for legitiate businesses as opposed to the personal family and political crony use of local politicians like Hollingworth? She has proposed that the taxpayers pay for the towing charges for these tourist - the very people being towed from the leased spaces such as those rented by Hollingworth and her husband William Gilligan. Hollingworth should answer these questions, and then withdraw from this election - she is not worthy.

Is she still in favor of a state income tax? If so, why? If not, why not, and why is she flipping on this crucial issue of a broad based tax that she saw fit to support when she ran for governor. And, rather than simply rail against the republican "legislature," is she going to tell us specifically why she should be elected over Nancy Stiles, and specifically what she would do as a Senator?

I can't see anywhere where she has responded about whether she still favors a state income tax. That is the last thing this state needs. Even Governor Lynch would never favor a state income tax, yet Mrs. Hollingworth was one of the biggest proponents of this tax in New Hampshire. I also cannot understand why this woman is running for office again. She was soundly rejected by the voters just 2 years ago when she lost Executive Council. She even lost her home town of Hampton, where she has been a political insider for decades.

Isn't the political graveyard two blocks down on the left? PS - pun intended on "left"
