Thanks to the firefighters (regular and volunteer) for going in harm's way for the people of this town. They're one of the best small town departments anywhere.

Hey Max I never see you thank the police department when they put their lives on the line every day for their community!

There are a few good cops on that department, and there are a lot of good cops in this state. I've said so in a previous letter to the editor and thanked them for their service.

But why should good cops have to live with the stigma of bad cops who don't even respond to calls for service? Why should taxpayers pay for some officers who are out in the back of the Poland Springs parking lot screwing drug addicts in the back of their cruiser when they're supposed to be on patrol? One cop locked himself and a girl in the back of his cruiser and had to call for backup to be let out.

Another cop was caught taking topless photos of a 15 year old girl against her will--not even given a written warning. Other cops have been caught beating up teenage girls and boys, even denying them medical attention when they ask for it. Others have been seen taking payoffs from drug dealers, who then sell out in the open, in plain sight. We have married cops who are openly hitting on young women right in front of people, and the Town Manager and Police Chief do nothing.

We have cops speeding recklessly for no reason, driving drunk, hitting vehicles, yelling and screaming at people, abusing their blue light authority, endangering the public, lying on the stand to cover for each other, filing bogus charges against people, playing favorites, and falsely accusing innocent people--even the victims of crimes--of wrongdoing. When a Selectman's grandson gets caught breaking into an old woman's home at Staples trailer park, why was he let off?

When a cop gets drunk and pushes his girlfriend out in front of oncoming traffic, why is he given a free pass? That's attempted murder, isn't it. When a firefighter gets attacked on a call and the cops just stand there laughing at them, can you blame people around town for hating these guys?

I do think you have gone bonkers! You are listening to too many people starting rumors! Totally blown out of proportion. You are so jealous of cops it is seething from your teeth. "If only you were a cop." First you wanted to be a constable with a badge, then the mayor of the police department to oversee them, for pete sakes why didn't you wanted to be a fireman? They make more money and have more fun. Max your going overboard and before you know it you will be back in California on your mystery boat.

Yes they certainly are the largest and the highest paid in the area and they do a hell of a lot for the community when there is no fire going on! Putting out fires is a full time job in Seabrook plus overtime.

We have one of the best small town fire departments in New England, and they cost the town about $3 million a year. I can see them working to save the taxpayers money in every way that they can.

The PD costs the taxpayers roughly $4 million a year, and is, according to other members of the law enforcement community, not a very good department. We read about the occasional reckless/DWI collision or lawsuit, but you rarely hear everything that the townies talk about. I listen to the folks who've lived here for 30+ years

Kudos to the SFD, DPW, Library, Rec Center, Water, and Sewer Departments. The Water Department is turning back close to $300,000 this year. The others have gotten on top of utilities costs, and so I ask that folks here will also give favorable consideration to those contracts.

Max I have lived her for 30+years and I dont think like that because I have no personal vandetta with the police department. Police officers have to arrest people while they serve and protect you as well, thats why people breaking the law such as you have such a poor taste and they are dammed if they do and dammed if they dont. Fire fighters do not have to arrest law breakers and get people against them and bad mouth them all the time such as your self.

There are bad and good in EVERY department! As a matter of fact I have heard the same thing you say about the police about our fire dept from other fire fighters so you need to stop your personal vandetta and start doing some good for the town and stop trying to seperate it!

If we can't get a first class police department, then we should switch to county coverage like a lot of other small towns. That would save the taxpayers $2.5 million a year and at least get consistent 911 coverage for the people in town.

The firefighters and DPW workers don't slam teenagers into the side of a building and shove them head first into the sidewalk. The secretaries at the Town Hall don't take payoffs from drug dealers and go flying up Route 1 at 100+mph. They don't steal from the Toy Bank fund and the gun range fund, and they don't flip on the blue lights just to bypass the traffic on the 107 bridge.

I know that there are some good cops on that department, but the work sucks for them. They split up into different shifts because no one wants to deal with those working on the night shift. Would you want to be on patrol when the prescription drug box gets, "emptied out?"

Itis not the secretaries of the town that serve and protect you against the bad guys. None of the other departments in the town take their life in their hands everytime they make a simple traffic stop for the cheap money they make! How would you like to be the spouse of a police officer and have to worry every single day that they go to work. Do you know how many officers get killed in the line of duty?? You are a member of a town board and you should not be talking shit about the town you represent like that. You should not be allowed to be on a committee and spread shit around like you do and have a personal vendetta against one department and one department only!
And Max I am a 30 + year townie so stop using that as your sounding board!

You are a very sour person towards the police department. It is not right for you to be on a committee bashing and reviewing their budgets. You should have been asked to step down with the way you are feeling about the SPD or as a matter of fact, how you feel about the town of Seabrook. You have had your personal comments about this town on the internet since you moved here. I don't recollect any sincere nice words ever said from you about the town of Seabrook. You really need to back off because you are starting to Pz people off.

its not the police doing that either. there asleep in there cruiser or telling Seabrook people to go back to our trailers and leave them alone. there are lot of people in town who have risky jobs and your putting them down by pretending that they should get down and be grateful for police who do nothing

Max,
Money was not stolen from the Toy Bank. You should not spread false rumors like that. If you are so sure of yourself, name that person so you can be held accountable for libel/slander.
I know who told you this rumor as well...shame on them. That person should know better.

You really should just leave NH.

How sad is it that we have Max on our Budget Committee. What have the natives done? They have to regroup and bring this town to where it should be. No more going against each other. The few that are left need to focus and team up to bring our town back to the standards it should be. I feel like I am an outsider looking in.......Please help.........

And don't forget about the drugs stolen at the police dept. Max knows it all. His source has all the latest rumors and he believes everything they say, then repeats it. Max, Max, Max you may get hit with slander if you do not back off. Wait a minute maybe you can get in line and sue the police dept. like all your buddies. Just hope it pays off, everyone else is having a hard time collecting.... Well there are other ways to collect....... you could trade your gun.
