Shut it down. If they can't sustain the payroll and utilitys with their dumbass offerings then shut it down. Three directors at the funny farm and not one can generate enough business? is it open when kids around, like holidays, weekends, and snow days? Seabrook taxpayers will get to foot the bill for non residents? Who gets to pay for equipment when it gets broke, a $100 fee won't cover or cut it. Nothing but a money pit with mismanagement and selectmen that are either clueless or have money to burn.

If it raises more money for the Rec Center, then I think that it's a good deal. The rec is pretty near empty sometimes, so they should have gotten more people in there long ago.

Well how about having adult dances there every couple of weeks or on a monthly basis. Make it alcohol free, have soft drinks and maybe snacks for sale or let some local groups provide refreshments on a rotating basis so all could benefit. It would be a nice place, no drunks,no smoke and plenty of parking. There could be dj's,bands. All types of possibilities, all types of music for 18 plus ages.

IMHO, the more the Rec Center depends on out of town residents for fees and membership funds, the more it will tend to cater to services that people actually want. The problem with paying for bugging through taxes is that the elected officials get to decide what services you get. Even if residents only paid 5-10% of the cost of services through user fees, that would at least tell us what programs people actually want, need, and use.

People who come on here and post anonymously--especially if their user ID lists Exeter or Stratham might as well not be posting at all. When someone throws mud at people on topix, most people pretty much discount everything they say because the poster hasn't even identified themselves as an inhabitant of Seabrook, and hasn't posted any link/quotes/videos to back up their accusations.

If all you know is the inaccurate reporting of the media, that just indicates that you don't know what's going on in town, anyway. Those folks actually rolling up their sleeves to volunteer at the Community Table, Rail Trail, Chucky's Fight, ON TRAAC, litter pickups, local office, etc, are doing the real work and should be acknowledged for their contribution to the town, not publicly attacked and belittled by those who just sit on their couches watching Channel 22 while they throw food-stamp-funded popcorn at the screen, leaving the heat at 80 degrees all winter because they're on heating assistance, and "borrowing" money from their sister's cousin's brother who has figured out how to rob the Town of a little more money.
