I thought in this country we still have a little decency left, such as innocent until proven guilty. Jim Tucker's reputation is being drug through the mud with the medias help of course, what a shame. This man is a fine upstanding citizen who is much loved and admired by people who know him. Before you make judgments of this sort against your fellow man, remember it could be you or someone you love and respect on the chopping block. Accusations of this sort can tear a family and community apart. The accuser should be thoroughly investigated before all blame is placed on someone of her choice. Why isn't the accuser guilty until proven innocent.

I agree some of the times the person is acutally innocent and even if found innocent the stigma still stays. Facts are facts and the outcome will show what the situation is. Wait until than to make your judgements. I had a uncle who was as a teacher was accused by one of his students of molestation. It caused a lot of stress for him and his family and when all was said and done, the student testified in court that she had lied about it all. Of course he retired from teaching and was very hurt by the allegations.

I remember years ago a bus driver was accused by a student. His name was drug through the mud in the media, and his address was even given out on the news. Ends up the student got in trouble and was trying to get the driver back, and the fact he was innocent got a small byline.

Now this article leaves a big question. The teacher was investigated over a rumor? What did the investigation reveal?

I know mr. tucker personally he was my band director in middle school and high school as well. He is a man that is strong in his faith and in his family. I honestly am sickened by these allegations towards him. He is a very caring person who would go out of his way for anyone and there cannot be a way that he would ever do this. I think sometimes people get hurt by false allegatios and I truly believe this is one of those times because people do not understand now how this has affected his family and the whole community that knows and loves this man. I will stand by his side until proved wrong HE IS A GOOD MAN AND WOULD NEVER DO THIS!! PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU MR. TUCKER!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, sometimes guilty is guilty. I heard from a reliable source in the school that there is undeniable evidence and that he confessed. My prayers go out to his family as well as the girl and her family.

it appears that you have good memories of him and maybe he was a good man then, but he may have changed since then or there was just some things you didn't know about him.
i sincerely hope he didn't do what he was accused of. however, before you go and assume that he didn't do it ask yourself this question: Do you think a 15 year old girl would lie about such a thing?

I also went to middle school that he taught at. There were always rumors that he had a fondness for the "pretty girls." It was on more than one occassion he would take girls back into his office alone. We always kind of joked about it and knew it was going on, but weren't sure that we could prove it when it came down to it. He was a good band director...and an okay guy...but he obviously had some dark secrets.

I've known Mr.Tucker for the years he was my band director just last year. I knewn something was weird when all the pretty girls were in the front row. I mean he was cool and all,but its weird.I'm on both sides:I think that Mr.Tucker is a great family man and always told us when we had rehersals after-school he'd tell us he had to go so he could go to his kids tennis matches.

YES! It has happened more than once simply to get back at a teacher for what she perceived as wrongful punishment for something she did.

I went to church with Jim for years and I know without a shadow of a doubt that he did not do what he is being accused of. That is insane. He is at church every time the doors are open. Not only is he a teacher, but he is also a choir director and has been for years. He is very involved in the church and the school as is his wife. These allegations are nothing more than a 15 year old girl that got mad at him for something stupid and chose this way to take it out on him. As far as "Do you think a 15 year old girl would lie about such a thing?" YES!! I was in foster care for most of my childhood life and I've seen girls and boys firsthand lie about the very same thing in order to benefit themselves. This is America, people! We don't live among a bunch of monks! People lie and because of this, innocent people get hurt! I just hope that Jim pulls out of this with his GOOD reputation still in tact and I know he has a lot of support and prayer from his friends and his church to help him be able to do so.

sad for all involved. I hope and pray he did nothing. But then that would mean we have a teenager with alot of problems. Either way someone is going to come out being drug through the mud. Maybe both sides.

It has become a problem with so many teachers getting involved with the students. Why? I can never understand this.

Like the teacher from here in Portland. She got 12 years, her husband and her kids are lefted to deal with some of the fallout. It is really sad for her kids.

usually the church guys who seem like they have it all together are the ones who do this type of stuff. sounds like he is trying to compensate his sins by being active in the church. i know for a fact that he is completely guilty. he already admitted it because so much proof has been found. i'm praying for his family. i hope he gets some help.

Ok here we go again!!!! Same thing that happened to Earl ...Not Guilty...So don't be so quick to judge ....PPL are so quick to just start yapping about stuff they know nothing about..I know Mr. Tucker and his wife ..come on now ...just wait and see how things turn out before slandering this guy.It is bad enough that if he is innocent they plaster his face ,name ,and all that bull on the news...just like they did Earl.....Messed upp if u ask me.I honestly think it should be against the dang law to have it plastered all over the news like that ...if they r not convicted!!!!!

As if someone who goes to church don't commit these kind of crimes. Don't hide behind religion, this happens in all walks of life or occupation. Pick your head off the pew and see the world like it is.

This is not a case of a 16 year old being mad at a teacher and making up a story. She didn't tell on them, her friend figured it out, told her mom and the mom's friend reported it. He is not denying the relationship and the family/community is done with him. No one is even willing to post his bail!

Susan B, You don't know what you are talking about (so shut up). Maybe a few are done with him but far from the whole family or community. Yes, Jim was very stupid and this is a very bad situation but the so called victim is the real predator. Yes it was Jims own fault for falling into this trap, but make NO mistake, it was a trap. It is not the the first time she has done this either. I do not condone his actions but , I forgive Jim. He is still a great guy with a great heart. Whomever is without sin, may cast the first stone. You need to keep this in mind while looking down from your horse! Do not omit Jim from your prayers.

You are sick--she is 15 years old and he is 47. No excuse.

I hope you and your type burn in hell. If I see you near my daughter, there's gonna be trouble.

YOU need God's help. Molesting tolerant puke.

No one excused his part, and no one is tolerant of molesters. No one is interested in you or your daughters, relax.
