How could someone do that to baby? How could someone put up with the guilt of leaving a baby in the trash? If I did that I would confess immediately and tell them why I did it.

It is amazing how a mother could look into their newborns eyes and decided to "dump" him or her. If she has a heart, she'll have to live with that forever.
Very sad that she didn't explore giving it up for adoption...
Can't imagine what she was thinking.

Hello, people! This is a matter of CHOICE! What part of CHOICE don't you get? Read the whole article. This woman was raped! Don't most of us agree that if a woman is raped she shouldn't have to live a life of seeing the face of the rapist in the child every day, hating that child as a result? Isn't that what being pro-choice is all about?

No one would ask her to keep a child she didn't want. There are safe places to leave a child now, and so very many families who want to adopt one.

Hello, John! What part of CHOICE don't you get? She had a Choice, Leave the baby at a Safe Haven, or dump the baby in a dumpster. Obviously, she made the wrong choice, and now she will have to pay the consequences.

John,
Rape or not there was a time she could of had an abortion. A choice due to circumstances (rape).
Time passes......the baby has grown; after 23 weeks a baby is viable to live outside the body.
New law.....even if she decided not to keep the baby...she could of EASILY taken the baby to a police station, or any hospital.
IF SHE DID THIS.....SHE WOULD NOT HAVE ANY CRIMINAL CHARGE.....AT ALL!
Its the law....

Many people don't realize this.

they didn't have enough proof to keep me in jail and it is an open adoption. I was told full out if I wasn't going to jail I would of gotten my son back.. I am sure you all have past your not proud of so don't be judging me.. so what if I have another baby its not your decision on what I do with my life.. I learned to stick up for myself.. my son being adopted is enough pain to deal with ... I am therapy for the situation . so dish out what comments you all want
