The Spaghetti luncheon at Notre Dame School in Buena, New Jersey was unholy....

The state of NJ just passed anti-bully bill and diocese has CAP sessions talking about anti-bullying...

It's a shame that many have been bullied by the Camden Diocese under Bishop Galante and supplied with Nazi like propaganda to justify further cover up of sins and lies..

It's a shame for everyone involved. If it had been the other parish closing (Queen of Angels, Vineland) it would have been a different story. How many catholics sold each other out..for the silver and their selfish gain???

The Camden Diocese still doesn't ever mention the fact that sexual abuse by clergy has been a factor when making decisions to close down Catholic churches and schools. While many diocese throught USA has admitted that they are in debt because of the lawsuits involving sexual abuse cases...

The bishops are supposed to be holy and highly educated and closing down our catholic churches and schools was the best idea that they could come up with?????!!!!

If they had put their faith in God, instead of being hypocrites, then we would be building and not destroying. Other religions in our area are building places of worship. Look at the new place next to st mary's in malaga, NJ. Rumor has it that the new church next door plans on buying the church and property. The Rosary garden will be dismantled and transferredd to Mater ecclesia in Berlin, NJ. It has been said that st marys in malaga has been sold and this is the real reason for the church closing abruptly. Only time will tell.

How many sexual abuse by clergy cases were settled out of court where both the victim and pervert were paid for their silence??? How many pedophile priests went to jail from the Camden Diocese. Someone should write a special documentary.

Did you notice that the very liberal progessives of the Camden Diocese is closing down everything Catholic and traditional including our priests and our Mass and now our traditional churches.

St. Mary's and other churches which were built by traditional catholics had holy consecrations when they were built. Also, there are special Mass and prayers before placing a "closed" sign on front of a church like St. Mary's in malaga, NJ. You just don't remove Christ from his home in the tabernacle and put a sign on the front door. Canon Law states its the pastor who makes the final decision to close down a church with the bishop's blessing.

It is our duty as Catholics to take action to defend the Catholic faith. alll over the world catholics are dying for their faith and their churches destroyed.

Here in America, we should be grateful for what we have. Especially our priests who put obedience to a man over God and break vows of chasity and no longer take vows of poverty. Without poverty there is no humility and respect.

St. Mary's in Malaga, NJ, St. Mathew's in National Park, St. Mary's in Salem, St. James in carney's Point, St. Annes in Elmer, St. Joes in Woodstown are the kind of churches that you see on a Thomas Kinkade christmas card.

Also, these churches have long existed before the 30 something year old corrupted camden diocese. We should sell bishops other homes including the $800,000 mansion for nuns in Pittsgrove, NJ..

Have you ever seen a modern ugly Galante Mega church on a Christmas card. It would never happen..

They have caused the priest and people shortage to justify their lies and sins. And we have priests who do nothing and allow this sin to happen. Core team members and deanery and trustees sold out God. Anybody who goes along with these closures and mergers are in a state of mortal sin because you are removing Christ from our towns and tabernacles.

As the parishes are merged will there be any new parishoners? Is there a plan to place new priests or to encourage children to the religious vocation?

I do feel sorry that people are saddened that their chuch is closed but reading some of the things on the St. Mary's church supporters website shed some light on many reasons the church was closed. It is a loss for the community but these are very tough economic times and there are many places of worship to go to that are more financially stable. Maybe in 10-15 years more churches can be built to expand Catholicism. But for now, churches sadly MUST close.

It is amusing to assume that St. Mary's closed simply because of financial reasons. When does one close a church? When there is a deficit of $10,000,$50,000 or $100,000? The financial reasons I am sure were not the driving force for closure. Rather, the opportunity was perfect to close the church. The boiler was in need of repair, winter weather is coming, and the "cost" would be to "high" to repair the boiler. The answer was self evident as well as the objective, close St. Mary's.

I feel sorry for you that you will have to answer to God for your indifference to sin.
These closures have added to people's financial troubles. Gas has gone up and taxes and ect. People working 2 jobs and yet they are the ones who have to sacrifice when the priests are living up at the jersey shore in their $400,000 shore house. there is supposed to be priest shortage and yet there are many priests who are co-celebrating. There is supposed to be priest shortage and yet they have time for internet and religious vacations and they receive 5 week vacation. there are many families with small children who won't even get a vacation.
Also, we don't go to church to just worship either. WE receive the sacraments. If you were Catholic you would know this.
We pray and there is time for Catholic action.

In regards to happy news:

Despite the evil decree that was issued by the bishop galante and the camden diocese, st marys will still hold the feast of the Assumption as planned.

This will be the first year without the holy sacrifice of the Mass because the diocese forbidded it.

The feast will be on August 14th, sunday with a candlelight procession along with fun and food for the whole family. For more info go to savestmarys.net

St. marys should remain open as a stand alone jubilee shrine parish. Please note that the late and soon to be saint Pope John Paul II issued a special Marian blessing on this parish.

And yes, the parishioners are still holding vigil and living in the tiny sacristy. These people have made sacrifices for their faith; why not these bishops, cardinals and priests?

Are you so sure about that fact?
No seems so final. Rather I say, the church is open, though there are no priests celebrating mass at St. Mary's.

The new merged parish, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, will include St. Mary's of course. All those parishoners will be part of this new parish. Of course, there is a re-education process for all servers, ushers, readers etc.

May God forgive all of you for implying that The Pope is anyway associated with the Devil. Schools are merging, police departments are merging, fire departments are merging, military forces are merging, private businesses are merging, towns are merging, etc. Merging is a necessity in today's global economy. Don't let Satan think ill of the Church. Not all decisions will be popular. In the end, we are in God's Hands.

Amazing messenger you bring God and Satan to fortify your arguments of closure, in order to justify your finality. You may just as well end your points by saying Amen as well.

St. Mary's is open to give praise to God. St. Mary's is closed by the Bishop's decree. The dioceses sees St. Mary's as closed. The people see St. Mary's as open.

As to mergers, there is always a top. Mergers are at times a necessity. Unfortunately, there are weak members in a merger and those weak ones are eliminated. St. Mary's was the weak link. Financially as well as the magic number of 200 parishioners in a church.

I wouldn't say I'm trying to "fortify" anything. May God Bless You and St. Mary's but May God Bless the Catholic Church from vicious attackers. So many people speak ill of the Church when they do "unpopular things" like closing down churches, schools and hospitals. People also speak ill of the Church when they do "popular" things as well. Mergers are usually unpopular. The most important thing is to be civil and remember that God has a plan and will help with your healing.

These mergers including today's global economy is from people stealing and mishandling money and greed. It is the reason why are country is trillion dollars in debt. Do you know it is a sin to be in debt like that???
The sexual abuse is sin and crimes that go against God and the teachings of the Catholic church. To be indifferent and to condone sins is the works of the devil.
