Thought it would be nice to put a little decorated & lit tree in My bass boat for the Holidays..but thanks to the useless lowering of the lake I'd have to walk through 15 feet of muck just to get the boat to enough water to float.. I'll bet in spring the same amt. of lily pad growth will grow unaffected by the lowering ,I have yet to see any reduction in lily pads from lake lowerings plus the bonus of an extra 3-4 ft of invasive grasses that now have exposed soils to seed in...thanks clca..maybe I'll put Santa hats on some stumps.

Collings Lake is a penal colony. People who live there are mainly on welfare, Section 8 or relocated there by the state for monitoring. The locals can't maintain their properties, lake. I have a crazy uncle who lives there. Each time I do a courtesy visit at Christmas, the community looks worse and worse. I can't imagine what it looks like now with what I've heard lately about Collings lake.

I didn't say Collings Lakes was worse than Sicklerville. I said Collings Lake was a penal colony. Sicklerville may have more hud and crime but at least they have some commerce.

Collings lake is a nasty place to live. People are abusing their animals everywhere u look. The lake is gone and they don't plan on fixing untill 2015 or whenever they get the "funds". I just found out my neighbors are section 8. People don't even cut their grass around here. There's people arguing and yelling every night. WHAT A. SHITHOLE! Glad rented this dump before I bought it. I'm outta here in 2 weeks and don't even wanna drive past here ever again. This place makes me sick!

I have lived in the Lakes since 1971,raised my children and grandchildren here. Yes there are drugs here, just like any place else. Addiction is a very hard thing to deal with, alcohol is legal and pot isn't. But there are more drunk drivers and they are not all from the LAKES. Afew of our neighbors have died on the black horse pike from drunk drivers from another town. There was in the past afew of our young people who got in trouble and were sent away to prison or jail time. But this is everywhere. Most of those young ones have grown up and are living decent lifes now. The drugs have slowed down quite abit and you are not allowed to just hang on the streets or hang out at our corner WAWA. The state troopers do there job very well, and stop people who they think should not be out late at nite. Our homes, most of them have been very well taken care of, and if there are people here that are on welfare, or getting any help from the State. They surely must need it, just look at our nation and what is going on, all of you negative people are only one pay check away from being on the street, so do not think it could never happen to you. I have been very blessed, but I have worked hard for what I have. But some people are not so lucky, husbands can not find jobs, people look for things to do, and some start drinking out of boredom or being poor. Some sell drugs to make money. But I think that Collingslakes has become a better community and people have started to care once again, and our homes do look better. People care about each other here. My neighbors are the best, and I do not hear any arguing in here, never heard anyone talk about that. The lakes is a very friendly place to live. These are my thoughts only. It is a clean community. Most of the homes are home owners, not much renting in here. And hardly any section 8, go to hammonton or williamstown and you have plenty of section 8's living there in there apts. People have to live some where, if not some live under bridges that some people do not even realize this. Open your eyes to the people that are down sizing us. This is everywhere, unemployment, no jobs, husbands leaving, or wifes, children going hungry, HELP OUT instead of critizing....well that's all I got to say....

Lady I'm not talking nor do I care about people living under bridges and who was hit by cars on the bhp. Or who is and isint working.I'm talking about COLLINGS LAKES! Open your eyes look around this place is a dump! Stop making excuses for people who loose their jobs and don't wanna work. Its called laziness and wanting to live off the system. Besides the fact that is NO exuse for the way these people act around here! I'm on the phone every other night with the state police. Even they agree its getting old! I give it 2 yrs and this place will be no better than camden. Have u ever drove by the basketball courts and seen all the trash or the abanded houses that keep getting broken into. Not to mention my house that some scum bag tried breaking into! Or the mess that nobody wants to fix that used to be a lake. Or the barking dogs that are chained to trees and left out all night to keep the whole street awake. I see you love your little town/community but I've only been here a year and can't wait to be done with this place! A lot of people agree its a whole different breed of people around here. Enjoy:). SIR, I understand your complaints, yes in the past I have had to call the state police also, I do not know what part of Collingslakes you live in, but the part I live in is usually quiet. We did have one robbery but the person was caught and served time. As far as the lakes I do not swim in them, and yes it is terrible the lakes are not up to par, but at one time they were. A lot of out of town people have come here and have ruin our name, it is not always Lakers that rob homes in here, it usually is someone from another town. You need to call the SPCA about the barking dogs, we had that problem but do not anymore, all my neighbors including me complained to the township. I am sorry you feel the way you do, but where ever you move, you will still have if not problems in your town, drugs are every where and so are robberies. I hope you find your new home a better place , and wish you good luck.

I did callSPCA they did nothing and I called state police poor dog is still chained to a tree 24 hours a day. When the lake dried up they had it in a small cage at end of yard it was getting eatin alive by all the bugs because of all the still mucky muddy puddles everywhere. Wasn't trying to argue just speaking my mind I'm very fed up with the way things are done around here that's all. As far as drugs and robberies yes its everywhere, but I've lived in atco for 30 yrs and haven't had as much problems as I've had here in the past year. Hopefully the township and civics assoc all get on the ball with things around here so things can be a little better around here.

I fully understand how you feel, I myself have fought the Civic/A....as they think if each household pays 48.00 a yr, things will change, we have another forum called lakers for life. Alot of the people that live here are trying to get something together to change things here. There are alot of caring and good people that live here and care about what is going on, so now they are trying to put something together up near 1st beach to make money, sell cakes, have a barbeque, horseshoe tournament, etc some have a band they want to put there also, maybe at least once a week. And try and put the lakes back to what they were. Hopefully it will happen, we will see...can I ask what street these people are chaining there poor dog up to a tree. Per ordinance a dog kept outside has to have a decent dog house, food and water also. And have a dog or cat license with shots. Sorry it isnt working out for you here. I am orginally from Camden, was born and raised there but that was back in the good old days when Camden was a clean and respectable city. Most of the homes on my street and near by are clean yards and new siding, windows etc. There are no renters or section 8 on my street. I know all of my neighbors. There is only one home that just went into foreclosure, only because of a death. So in closing Good luck....

Probably a few mainly to escape violent crime. Last murder in the Lakes was in mid to late 70's by a challenged individual who shot a family man over nothing. Was Very Sad indeed!

A friend of mine labels C.L. As the ghetto in the woods. It must have been a nice place at one time. Even Camden was good once.
