Given the state of technology today it is undemocratic for a member of congress to not be able to represent their constituents with a vote no matter where in the world they are, or out of it. A physical presence required on the floor made sense at one time but that time has long past. The ability to cast a secure vote is available anytime congress decides it's time to arrive in the 21st century. And it could end the game playing by scheduling votes depending on who is where.

The Republican dissenter effectively say "well, we feel the same way, but to vote for it weakens the country, otherwise I would". This is such specious hypocrisy it is incredible. Does anyone think that "the terrorists" don't already know what the public thinks? They blog too!! To pretend that this would be some kind of revelation to them is about as honest as trying to equate the Iraq war with Al-Queda.
I don't know about the rest of the public, but for someone to assume I am so stupid that I will buy this spin thoroughlyn aggravates me.
