Yeah I agree Townsend is a rip off I went there because I was court ordered for a DWI and I was completely sober and drug free and there so say drug test rip off said I wasn't just so they could keep me in there program and rip me off. They preach nothing but the same old bullshit and steel peoples money.

I agree with everyone. I'm currently in the program. Everyone comes to the meetings "high".
The doctors are horrible and don't give a damn about you. All they want is your $$$. It is a total rip off and you should find somewhere else to go. Somewhere who gives a damn about your illness and helping you and not themselves. Dr. Trosclair is the biggest F$cking idiot and needs help himself.

Trosclaire should be "looked" into. I'm sad to see such a recent post stating years old issues. Sad. Don't doctors make a promise to first do no harm? Guess thats just a promise REAL doctors keep.

I wish I'd research Townsend before informing my husband to go. Townsend is a true rip off to the max. My husband was trying to explain this to me but I thought it was the illness acting out persay. Until I began to go to Family nights and hearing the same folks talk and them discussing nothing new plus drug testing daily. Our bill came for the testing and I lost it unbelievable cost per test. Complete and total waste. Then hang over your head if you don't complete program you must pay full amount but the amount they charge you to say no therapy or treatment besides pumping you with meds it should be free. Please heed our "WARNING" you do better going to meetings because with Townsend that's all you are doing.

Yes, I finished one 6 week program, that got pushed back 2 more weeks, then i was asked back for another 6 week program that was supposed to be free if I finished. But once i finished, i started getting bills in the mail. Which i'm not paying and sent them to the attorney general. Anybody who is thinking about out patient need to go to the tau center program. its cheaper and focusses on the 12 steps more. Townsend is a cheat and rip off. Tau center costs me 60.00 a week, for 7 weeks, compared to 3800.00 at townsend.

I would love more information from you regarding the program- I am freaking out I don't have mental insurance coverage are they going to just bill the credit card on file??

I disagree 100% with all of these comments, sorry. I recently finished the Townsend IOP program. As far as payments, the final balance that was paid between my insurance company and myself was exactly the amount that I signed and agreed to. Just because you get a copy of a bill in the mail doesn't mean thats the amount your insurance paid. Its called a pro-rate. You can contact your insurance AFTER the process is completely thru and they can tell you how much they dished out to Townsend. Now as far as the treatment that I received, Townsend absolutely saved my life. I was highly addicted to roxies. On the verge of losing my family, job, and everything else. I couldn't have got the treatment at an AA or NA meeting that I got at Townsend. The hands on, accountability, and relationship with my counselor Peggy was the only thing that got me to sober up. If anyone has any questions or anything about the program I would be happy to answer. The only thing I can say that was negative is the genetic testing. That crap is definitely just a tool for someone to get paid. Biggest load of crap I've ever subjected myself to. Also, the medicine "deplin" I think is a kickback for the Dr or someone. Its expensive, insurance doesn't cover it. And all it is, is a folic acid, multi vitamin. Dont waste your money in my opinion. But they're gonna tell you that it is essential to your recovery. I'm doing great, sober for over 2 months and I don't take it. Hope this was helpful to someone. I would recommend going to Townsend over any treatment program around.

What place would you recommend?

Great place to go if you want to pick up another addiction to Suboxone. This "treatment center" is a total joke. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here.
